That was very helpful! I'm sad you ruined your coloring page, but it was good to see how well it did on actual coloring book paper. I've been waffling between inktense pencils and blocks. So, I've been on a quest to see which one would suit me better. Thank you for this, it really was very helpful

Alcohol blender won't make them bleed through, unless you are doing layer after layer in the same place. In fact it is less likely to bleed than with water or waterbased marker. I have used it with Inktense regularly and have not had a problem. The alcohol blender is a fabulous solution for thin paper that cannot tolerate water, or papers that react to water badly such as the dreaded "black spot" reaction, warp excessively, etc. It's allowed me to use my Inktense (and watercolor pencil/neo2) in so many book I otherwise could not. I also find it much easier to control, the pigment stays where you put it, it just blends. You do need to pay more attention to your initial laydown for that reason, but it's really wonderful to be able to reserve lights etc without effort.

I am a complete beginner. I’ve just received my neo 2 and am waiting for my Inktense to arrive. These tips are all so useful, I didn’t realise the variety of useful ways to activate them! Thank you.

Inktense pencils were some of the first supplies I started coloring with. They are so fun and beautiful. I actually think they are really beginner friendly.

This is a fantastic video, it reminded me of some techniques I have not used for ages - like the blending with gesso ( I used white gouache in the past) and blending out with water based marker of different colour. Thank you for sharing!
