Alaska Cabin Adventures

It took 2 years to go from blank trailer to fully furnished cozy cabin on wheels, this video chronicles the building process of one of the greatest challenges of my life. It's always been my dream to have a safe and secure cabin with a wood stove to stay in while adventuring across the great state of Alaska, even when it's -40°. This video is dedicated to all the dreamers out there, I hope this videos inspires you.

I feel like I'm the only one who enjoys seeing mistakes in projects. It's comforting to see normal people. Great work, sir.

Omg!! I’m a 72 years old grandma watching this at 4 am and saving it for my future build 😂 Great job ❤

Gotta say that the MVP is definitely your wife. She started helping you with this WHILE PREGNANT. Absolute boss.

It’s so refreshing to see someone show the whole process, mistakes and all, instead of editing everything to look perfect. That’s the real side of projects, and I love that you share it honestly.

It's wildly refreshing for someone to show all aspects of a project like this, and not retake after every mistake. People don't realize that's a reality of doing projects like this.

Someone sponsor him a flush router - all the jagged edges from the saw blades are preventing me from a good night’s sleep. 😅

I think you are WAY too hard on yourself when you make mistakes. It's how we learn and you aren't afraid to try or keep going! That counts for SO much. I appreciate that you don't present "perfect" processes. I just found your channel and this was so inspiring! Thanks!

Leaving a back porch is brilliant. Idk if I've ever seen that done. Maybe once on a box truck conversion. I love it

Just wanted to say I enjoy the little extra things you keep in the videos, like the deep breaths when taking a break, a thumbs up when finishing something, and the mistakes we can all learn from. Thanks Matt

I really appreciate the little details you leave in the videos—like pausing to catch your breath, giving a quick thumbs up, or showing the mistakes along the way. Those moments make it feel so real. Thanks, Matt!

I had a thought when I saw you put the propane tank in your outside storage box. To be on the safe side, plus you are going out on the road. You should vent it. Propane has a higher vapor density than ambient air,so the vents need to be at the lowest level of the box. Be safe out there.

I’ve got to say: I don’t usually watch 2-hour videos…but watching this come together from the trailer up was very satisfying. It was also nice to see that your wife helped out too—that’s awesome! I’m happy for you, and really impressed with how well this turned out. Thank you for sharing!

I am a 93 year old great grandma thoroughly enjoying this video. My husband did very limited renovations around our home and I have two sons who could build almost anything. I find this fascinating!

“The main issue with using foam to level the trailer and then building on top of it is that foam tends to shrink over time. This shrinkage occurs unevenly depending on the distribution of weight, which can compromise the stability of the structure. As the base shifts, the bolts may be subjected to excessive stress and could eventually fail.”

A peep hole or tiny window would be ideal on the door. Just in case someone comes knocking, especially at night.

전문목수가 아닌 일반인도 자신의 작은 집을 지을 수 있다는 걸 깨닫게 해준 아주 귀한 영상.
감사합니다.

I have to say… after probably the 10th thing that just went wrong where you measured wrong or dropped something I had to sub… because that’s exactly how this would go if I attempted the same build 😂 I’d rather watch someone who has bad luck and just shake their head than someone who makes it look so easy

The idea of building a portable cabin that feels like home wherever it goes is both genius and poetic. It’s freedom in the form of wood, wheels, and craftsmanship.

I greatly admire your approach to this project by giving us a complete video, instead of multiple installments, asking us for money each time. I subscribed for that reason.
