The funniest thing about this is that if the sonic community kept their mouth shut they would have won

The Sonic fandom attacking the Genshin community was like a single shark harrassing a baby dolphin and evoking the wrath of the entire pod

The thing about the bribery, there wasn't a single word about us getting primos if we won this vote, the sonic community just saw the fact that we got primos for the playstation partner award, and instantly made up the lie that hoyo was promising us primos if we won, which was absolute crap.

I think bribery argument is kinda invalid since we got primogems ONLY for getting nominated, not for winning the award.

What's even stupider is that, after the Game Awards fiasco, Sonic Frontiers got another chance to win another award on The Steam Awards with their musics getting nominated. They made another push just like TGA, but less agressive this time.

And the result is.... they lost to Final Fantasy VII: Remake, a game that was released in 2020 that just got ported on Steam that year. Which in my opinion, it's far more insulting than Genshin because at least Genshin still have monthly updates and going strong during that year.

It's safe to say, Sonic Fandom will have a huge grudge against Genshin fandom for a while now, but as a fan of both sides? i can't help but laugh

I’m an active member of both fandoms this was just insanity I had no idea what was going on and I just ate popcorn in my comfy corner and watched the chaos and everyone up in flames

Genshin community drama always bring a tear to my eye. Imagine uniting millions of people with different races, cultures, countries, across the world to collectively bash on a single thing. It is beautiful.

Genshin community: it's not about the primogems, it's about sending a message

I was like Mujin, I play Genshin in full swing and had no idea this was going on. I couldn't care less as Mujin has stated early on in his video, "we were chilling."
I agree with a lot what he said as we already won several awards back in 2020/2021, this award in 2022 wasn't a big of a deal for us.

I'm a member of both fandoms, and it really sucked to see both communities warring over something so trivial.
Like, most Sonic fans really liked Frontiers, because it really felt like a step in the right direction for the future of Sonic games. It's not a perfect game, but it still does a lot of things right, so we enjoyed it. Like aside from the insane soundtrack, the storyline was cool (it was co-written by a long-time writer for the Sonic comics), the character writing felt solid, and the open-world-style gameplay felt fresh (and when combined with the ability to play as different characters in the new DLC, it was like a spiritual successor to the Sonic Adventure games)
So understandably Sonic fans like myself were very passionate about the game and are hopeful for the franchise's future. But the Sonic Sweep thing did go too far. I just hope there isn't any bad blood between us fandoms anymore lol

its crazy how a lot of sonic fans says shit like ”pedophile game” or some shit. im not denying there are some creepy people in genshin community. BUT…lets not forget some sonic community are also into beastiality 😂

They were REALLY lucky that the Chinese didn't decide to strike that hard, because oh boy...

if you've seen some previous events then you know how vicious they can be when provoked

Unlike Sonic, Genshin didn't even mention about the voting event on their fb or twıtter, until the final result was announced, so the BRIBERY was HOAX. If they actually tried to make players vote, Genshin would have won since round 1. But no, most Genshin voters only knew about it after Sonic fans made the ruckus. The rewards were roughly the same amount of every after major updates, and you would get it whether Genshin won or lost (since it was already nominated), regardless you voted or not. Most Genshin voters simply wanted Sonic to lose.

the community that allowed to shitting on Genshin community is the Genshin community itself

Mujin and Akashot are neck and neck in becoming the Internet Historian for Genshin Impact

Btw the time when the awards site stopped showing the votes happened because someone on the sonic comunity tried multiple times to imput 10k+ bot votes into the system and they even got called out on twitter.

Oh man, I was there and since I am/was a part of both fandoms, this drama was so stupid. Like, Sonic fandom would've won had it not been for the slurs. Genshin fans did not even care for the award before that.

For once, the genshin community werent the instigators

As someone who is in both communities, I legit peaced out the moment the war started...

I think Mujin is a hilarious content creator, especially at the very end of the video 😂
