What do you guys think, will the cost of living ever come down in NYC? Please drop a like and subscribe it really helps!
God Bless,
Nick

The funniest thing about individuals living in metropolitan areas is how much they complain, yet keep electing the same problems over and over again.

The guy in the Bronx who said you only had to make $60 a day to live in the Bronx… ain’t never worked a single job in his life.. 😂😂😂

Nick Shirley has become the best source of true news for our time. He’s doing what the mainstream press should be doing

Living in NYC is only cool if you're young or you're rich.

The problem with this country especially in my city NYC, is that the middle class has been completely destroyed. You’re either making over 6 figures or your living paycheck to paycheck.

I left my rent stabilized apartment of 33 years in the East Village 9 years ago. My rent was 1206.83 , the LL bought me out of my lease for a nice amount because he could chop it up and make it 5K. It became a transit neighborhood of “I’m here for a year for an experience “ Moved to Philly, it’s like NYC in the 80’s. I have a one bedroom in a quiet, mostly safe neighborhood 10 minutes walk to center city for $800. My rent has never gone up, utilities are about $65. a month. I can jump on Amtrak for a day trip to NYC, I’m there in less then 1.5 hours for under $50 round trip ( make the reservation in advance)

Best thing I ever did was leave NY 15 years ago. People in NY don't know any better. You don't have to live like that. There is a better life outside of NY.

this isn't just content, it isn't just a series of interviews, it isn't simply an independent media outlet... it's a man making history and revitalizing true journalism by documenting the most important stories right from the street. from riots to corruption.  this is great.

I came from the Bronx, from immigrant parents, we (parents, myself and sister) all shared a 1 bedroom apt in a rough neighborhood by Kingsbridge Ave. I went to Public schools and  CUNY Lehman. I worked my way to the top and moved around NYC (living in Bk, Queens, Chelsea etc). Made over 250k at one point and decided to leave America to live elsewhere. It can be done. I HATE when people say they cant make it and only can live on Section 8. My parents were on welfare for a few months but that only gave me motivation to do better. Do better people. NYCHA is not a free ride forever. You have to motivate yourself to do more, do better and get yourself out of poverty.

It sounds like section 8 is subsidizing the LANDLORDS, not the working poor. If we took away section 8, these apartments would be empty until landlords lowered the rent prices.  Am I crazy? 🤔

Always appreciate when creators actually acknowledge and show NYC NYC and not JUST Manhattan. Too many think NYC is just Manhattan when in reality Manhattan is the smallest part of NYC.

Nick, Thank you for bringing us real unfiltered stories about real people.

Growing up in Brooklyn was a unique experience, but when I moved to the South, I realized just how hard I had to work to escape poverty. Back in 2005, I was paying $1,600 a month for a one-bedroom, and now in 2025, I’m paying that same amount for a mortgage. It may sound cliché, but if you can make it in NYC, you can make it anywhere!

I know some people who are disabled and poor, have food stamps, medicaid and section 8 . They live okay because they don’t do drinking, drugging , cook their food at home, don’t lend or borrow, and respect their budget.

New York is a great place for rich people and poor people, not necessarily for everybody else.

I spent 10 days in the Bronx on a missions trip. On our first day when we were in orientation, gunshots when off right outside where we were.

I became friends with a small gang hanging around the basketball courts, by the end of the time I was there. 3 out of the 6 guys I was chilling with when I had time. Gave their life to the lord. And the leader of the gang gave me his
du-rag. Very touching moment. Won’t ever forget living in the Bronx.

Only in New York you can pay $4,500 a month to have a homeless man who chooses to be homeless directly outside of your house!

You couldn’t pay me billions to live in that hellhole !!!!
Real freedom is the country !  I get to raise and preserve my own food, raise meat chickens, buy beef and pork from local farmers, mow my yard with 0% chance of getting mugged or shot, leave my purse in my unlocked car overnight, no noise pollution, no light pollution and no garbage laying around !  Clean lakes a short walk away to swim, fish or go boating, clear view of stars and northern lights when they are out……. Small town rural America is true freedom !!!
Sometimes I sit on my back deck at night and hear absolutely nothing…. No people, no dogs, no gun shots, no traffic, pure silence…..until a loon calls and I know I’m in a safe beautiful place ❤

California has the same exact issue, lived in poverty for 37 years there, born and raised. I left California bought a house after 2 years, got a massive income increase😂😂😂😂😂 life changing literally overnight! It's worth taking a chance to leave, believe me!
