EDIT/ small correction: AFAIK, GNOME just added the ability to remember the brightness settings you set, but setting the brightness still requires an extension and doesn't have a GUI slider. ALSO: Disks in its GTK4 form isn't part of GNOME 51, it didn't make the cut. It was present in the release notes and in GNOME OS, so I assumed it was ready, but it won't ship as part of GNOME 51

21:36 That's what i really like about the gnome/kde competition. There is no competition.Virtually no one switches from one to the other because of some random obscure feature. It's 99% based on the user's aesthetic choices and that's cool. We can all be friends and make fun of each other

At first i was very sad about Canonical discontinuing Unity, but honestly modern GNOME looks and feels pretty good now. Plus it aligns well with standard non-Ubuntu GNOME desktop on Debian and Fedora

Maybe just sticking with GNOME was actually a good decision after all

Something to look forward to whenever the next version of Fedora Workstation releases!

I continually find myself going back and forth on GNOME. On the one hand I like that it just does what it does very well and gets out of your way, on the other hand I'm frustrated at the number of roadblocks in place to stop you personalising your desktop.

Now I just wish they'd port Gnome tweaks over to the settings app. Why does changing your font and cursor, and startup apps, still require a second settings app? That only has like 10 options?

The Libadwaita version of Disks has been in GNOME OS for multiple versions by now, but for some reason no distro has shipped it.

Not being able to change mouse acceleration through gui should be added to the Genova conventions of crimes against humanity

@2:22 Reduced motion will benefit the e-ink users as well.

A drawn signature that is included in a digital document is generally called an "electronic signature". This versus a "digital signature" that may be calculated over a document using a signature algorithm and a private key (cryptography).
