Will A Doberman Protect During A Home Invasion?

The Golden Kobe Family

Dobermans were born and bred to be guard dogs, however, this was many, many years ago. They still have a natural instinct to guard and protect, so we decided to put that to the test. I dressed up in my friends clothing and pretended to burgle the house, and her reaction was, well, interesting...

Poor Moki was saying “uh…why is Dad acting so weird?” 😳😂

A doberman can recognize their owners vehicle 60 seconds from home. Pretty sure your dog can sense their owner in a costume lol I would love to see this again with a complete stranger

Dogs have a powerful sense of smell. Moki knows who you are.

Your lady should've acted terrified. She was too relaxed for the dog to go into protection mode. You actually succeeded in freaking out your dog.😂😂😂

My three Dobermans would have immediately started barking and taken up guard at the doors. We once tested them with a stranger — a friend pushed a mannequin through the doorway, and one of them instantly sank its teeth into it.

Moki seemed massively confused because Ella didn't seem frightened. If Ella had seemed frightened, Moki would absolutely have guarded Ella. But the longer it went on, the less she knew how to react and the more she was looking to Ella for clues. Mind you, probably wouldn't have been the best idea for Ella to act actually afraid and then you to climb in the window!! x

She has got to be one of friendliest Doberman dogs ever. Otherwise you woulda been bitten for sure.😅😂

That dog was scared of her own shadow, she even peed herself.

I lived in a house in Houston, Texas in the 1990's. Our Landlord had a Doberman Pincher and 1 my roommates took care of him for our Landlord. The Doberman bonded with all of us. If a stranger was knocking on the windows and was tried to get in, the Doberman that lived with us, would have attacked him.

I think that because Ella wasn't scared, Moki remained calm.

Poor Moki got nerves and did a pee. Better take a good alarm installation. Don't forget Moki spends time with super sweet Kobe and have awesome parents that train thank god with love not agression. I am proud of the golden family . Perfect foursome.❤❤

Moki didnt sense any fear or uncertainty in Ella, so Moki understood these shenanigans to be some version of the normal.

My doberman would have barked and growled already like crazy hearing the stick on the glass 😂 If he sees anyone he will bark like crazy as well. She did not even make a sound 😮

Agree with others here, she already knew it was you from the very beginning! You may have underestimated dogs' ability to smell their owners from a very long distance away. Best to try this with a stranger and now it has also confused the dog!

Moki knows it's you. She can smell you! She's wondering wtf your doing

When she jumped on Elle, that seemed like a protective measure, she seemed like she wanted to stay as close to her as possible. “What the fluff, mom stay here don’t move” I think I agree with the comments, if she had acted scared or started yelling at him. Moki would have probably acted differently.
