Hi Steph! Great progress on your projects this week! 🎉🎉 As a fellow book lover/writer, I love that you named the characters and created a backstory for them!! ❤❤ I'd be interested in hearing about (or reading 😉) what you wrote. ❤ Happy stitching! 😊

Enjoyed your stitchy updates, sofia has some gorgeous patterns, i am currently stitching Nativity by her. Happy stitching, love the ocean couple piece.

I have couple of sofas designs too, a witch and mermaid with a baby, might start it with you ❤

Okay, first of all… HIIIII
I have been debating whether to comment because I have approximately 500 things I want to say and absolutely no idea how to say them without writing you an entire novel, but here we are. Apparently I have accepted that this is going to be a massive comment, so I apologise in advance :,)
I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for talking about SSLDesignsCo in your video!! It genuinely made me so ridiculously happy to see you looking through the shop, loving the designs, and especially acknowledging that I’m the one making the patterns/images!! 🥹❤️
And now for the slightly surreal part… HI, I’M THE DAUGHTER 😂😂 So when you were talking about “the mother and daughter” behind the shop, I was basically sitting there watching you talk about… well… me. Which is a VERY weird experience hahaha.
I also absolutely loved that you showed all of the Sarah J. Maas universe-inspired designs!! And I can officially confirm your suspicions because YES. YOU WERE RIGHT.
The first three are indeed ACOTAR-inspired, specifically Rhysand and Feyre / the Night Court. Hence the names “The Night Court”, “Court of Roses” and “Court of Thorns” for the three designs. 👀🌹🌙
And the other three are also very much TOG-inspired and are about Aelin and Rowan — hence “Carranam”, “Fireheart” and “To Whatever End”. And if you know, YOU KNOW!!!
And you were also completely right about something else: none of the images are meant to represent a specific scene from the books. That was actually intentional! I wanted them to almost feel like little Easter eggs for readers. So if you've read the books, you can look at the imagery and immediately go “OH. I KNOW EXACTLY WHO THIS IS ABOUT” but if you haven't read them, they're still just pretty fantasy designs that are enjoyable to stitch and aren't so ridiculously locked into a specific scene that you need to know the entire 800-page emotional damage history behind them hahaha.
I’m a HUGE ASS reader myself, so making this books-inspired line has honestly been SO much fun for me. It’s also occasionally incredibly stressful because the images do not always come out of my brain looking the way I imagined them 😭😂 And obviously, because these are basically my babies, I want the characters and the atmosphere to look EXACTLY like how I pictured them while reading the books, which is… apparently an unreasonable standard to have for myself :/
Also, I have actually started stitching The Night Court myself!! Which sounds very impressive until I clarify that I am NOT a stitcher 😂 I am primarily a reader who has somehow decided to stitch one of my own giant patterns, while also prioritising books, university, life, and approximately 700 other things. So realistically… I expect to finish it sometime around 2047. 😂😂 Especially now that my university classes are about to start again. But I’m determined!! Eventually. Probably. Maybe. 😂
I genuinely cannot wait to see which one you end up choosing because now I’m invested in this decision too!! 😂
And I should warn you that I absolutely plan on keeping the book-inspired line going 👀 I’m already working on new patterns inspired by other books, so… stay tuned!! 📚👀
BUT I would LOVE to hear what books/characters you would personally love to see turned into a cross stitch pattern!! As a fellow reader, I’m always interested in what characters people would love to have staring at them from their walls for the next several years while they slowly stitch them 😂
Also… I noticed that you started stitching one of my mum’s designs, Souls of the Sea!! Which I obviously think is lovely and beautiful and amazing… even though MY images are better. 😂😂😂
(JK.)
(…maybe not entirely joking. 😂)
BUT you mentioned that you had actually named both of the characters and given them a backstory and, as a HUGE reader, I am now completely obsessed with this and I NEED TO KNOW THEIR NAMES AND THEIR BACKSTORY PLEASE AND THANK YOU. 😂😭
Like, you cannot just casually tell me that you have created an entire lore for these two and then expect me to move on with my life. I need the lore. This is no longer optional. 😂
Anyway, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for talking about the shop, for showing the designs, for saying such lovely things about them, and especially for noticing and mentioning that I’m the one behind the images!! It genuinely means SO much to me. ❤️
It was such a surreal and wonderful thing to watch, and I’m so happy that you enjoyed the designs enough to consider stitching one (or more 👀).
Thank you again!! And I hope you have SO much fun stitching whichever one you eventually choose!!
