Enterprising Engines: The Cloud Factory

Enterprisingengine93

28,138 views

Hey! You! Get off of my cloud! This story features a POWER STATION and not a hydroelectric dam, damn it. Forgive me, I have no idea why I sound so defensive.

SYNOPSIS:
After Gordon pulls a prank, Percy finds some friends in high places.

It could be low places too, come to think of it. Is the Sodor Cloud Factory CLOUDING our judgment? That's for us to know, and you to find out.

A charming and adorable adaptation of the original magazine story by Halfbaked8. This was in the cooker for longer than I expected, and for reasons that were mostly related to arbitrary whims and silly ideas. Everyone involved should not only be commended for the skill, soul, and generosity that they contributed to this project, but also their patience. It was a joy for me to see this project evolve. I hope you enjoy it!

Yes, we're gonna meet Little Barford. Don't you worry.

Stick around for the credits, and after the credits. But definitely stick around for the credits. I think everyone on Sodor needs a spa day once in a while.

There's no part of this I don't love, but I would pay real American dollars to be in the room for you instructing a bunch of professional estheticians to massage wooden toy trains with absolute sincerity.

What an underated magazine story. I’m happy to see it be adapted properly by the man, the myth, the legend… Enterprisingengine93!

Hearing DaWillstanator as Gordon after SO LONG hit me like a damn truck

@TinesSensahthe 9 months ago

And this time, we can say that Percy's funnel wasn't in clouds with ideas above his station! Gordon, on the other hand, is still blowin' a lot of hot air, but what else is new?

Another fantastic episode, good sir! Always great to see your work pop up in my feed, and very happy to have helped out a little bit with the filming for this episode! Very fun writing and great performances!

A great episode to end this year and send us into 2026! Cheers, man!

This was such a lovely adaptation, Matt. Little Barford is definitely a character that people love, but I don't see people do much with. And the same goes for adapting his debut story. I absolutely loved the power station set, and I gotta admit, seeing the engines getting pampered in the end credits was kind of funny. Keep up the good work, man. Can't wait to see what you have in store for 2026. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

5:36 If it ain’t ole Dawillstanator aka former MOAB! He never disappoints just like the good old days with Strong Bad James and the Crazy German Crane!

Oh that’s Proteus’ voice

I hope none of the spa employees gave you too weird of looks when you came in and asked them to pamper a bunch of Thomas characters.😂

But nevertheless, the end credits sequence was absolutely chef’s kiss and this video was wonderful from beginning to end! Well done, Matt! Happy New Year!😊❤️💖💕✨🎆

7:05 well i didn't notice the narrow gauge line either since it's all the track looks the same (though i guess there's no good way to visually distinguish between standard gauge and narrow gauge with just wooden railway)

I missed the premiere…. All because of a haircut.

Ah well, could be worse. I giggled with the ending montage. That was adorable. I love how the final thing came out. MiscMischief’s score is superb and beautifully composed.

It really enjoyed animating for this story. The scenes with Gordon I had fun, with the deliveries Will Patterson given was more than enough for me see to feel Gordon. And to emote. Give me more Gordon scenes to animate. He’s so fun to work with!

The Proteus end credit was eerie to say the least. Feels like he’s just showing his true colors.

I think it’s safe to assume that Proteus will return in Avengers: Secret Wars. But who will he be playing? I want to say the tumbleweed.

Looking forward to what you have for 2026.

Bro this is easily your best work yet!
I love the animation on the faces, I love Little Barford, I love the steam effects, and best of all, I love Gordon and Percy’s relationship in this. I love how they play their tricks equally and own up to them in the end. It shows on how much both of them have grown. Keep it up Matt, one day you might become a producer for Thomas and friends. (and I cannot wait to see Proteus return!) 😁👍

An excellent fanmade episode to watch on my 22nd Birthday!
Also...
DaWillStanator definitely caught me off guard with that Gordon laugh at 5:36!

Hope you had a very merry Christmas! Can you also believe this year is coming to a close already?

@lukechristmas3951 9 months ago

I love the inclusion of Little Barford, even in his original green livery. It's been a while since Percy last interacted with a small, green saddle tank engine like himself. (That Asbestos episode still sticks in my mind.) Have a nice spa day! You'll feel a different engine going into the New Year!
