Wayno is a nice place for 1st time visitor

Here's another pro tip. The Tsukuba Express line (the line you took to Akihabara) is a little more expensive than any of the local JR lines (Yamanote, Keihin Tohoku, Yokosuka, etc) as well as most of the metro/subway lines. Same with the Rinkai Line. I try to avoid those lines if I can. The other option to Akihabara from Asakusa Station is the Ginza line. ¥178 compared to ¥230.

11:01 - you're in Japan Zane, not Bangkok.  You can't get fake goods at stores in Japan.

I stayed in Ueno for my first trip last year and ive already locked in a week at the end of this year. Always so much to do and everything is so close.

This September set a record for rain every single day. Come October, however, the rain stopped abruptly, and the weather turned sunny, just as is typical for the season. It was unfortunate for the tourists who visited in September, but I suppose that’s just a matter of luck.

Hotel Tavinos in Asakusa is pretty interesting, anime theme hotel for cheaper than the APA I booked with great location and amenities

雨続きの東京に戻られたのですね☔️アメ横が好きというのは同感だし嬉しいです❤浅草にもホッピー通りという飲み屋街がありますよ😉🍺

Wonderful to see you back in Tokyo! I am returning this November for my second trip of the year. I’m staying at the Far East Village Hotel Tokyo, Asakusa. It’s a m 3-star hotel with a bus stop right outside the door, so the location is incredibly convenient

Damnit, I tried to book this APA for my returning trip in 3 weeks which was $240 CAD which is 170 USD through Expedia. I really liked staying in Ueno a couple years ago. Not as chaotic as Shibuya or Shinjuku

For a good $5 meal hit up Yoshinoya!

If you're not afraid of being unable to find a motel you can do really well in Japan (and elsewhere) by just booking "day of".  I'm going back to Japan this winter but over summer I stayed at -

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo in Kyoto and this was bill - "[Total Staying Fee]    7,780 JPY(tax included)".  At 157 yen per Dollar that's $49.55 and it was quite a bit nicer hotel and room than what you see in the video.  Granted, it was Kyoto vs Tokyo though.

The other I stayed in at Kyoto was RIHGA Gran Kyoto. Booked (again same day as stay) for 19,898 Yen which is USD$127.  Is a different class of hotel certainly but cheap for how nice it was.

For reference I just checked for nicer hotels along the interstate here in Southern Illinois at a small town near here.  Holiday Inn Express - $194.  Comfort Inn - $166.  Best western - $99.  None hold a candle to those two right in the middle of Kyoto.

OOO-EH-NOH not WAY-NO

You have to try a Jonathan’s for breakfast,,, very cheap and good food

“Ooh-way-no”.  Not “weyno”

dont know if you know this zane. there is a buddha in the ueno park. though its only the face. it got destroyed or demolished in world war. they used the pieces for it for something and left the face only.

Yoshinoya, pepperlunch and even the donki stores can be found in los angeles. Lol love the vids but your japanese pronunciation is killing me 😂

what is the phone currency conversion app you are using?

Why not just get yoshinoya or sukiya or matsuya breakfasts? They are more nutricious than 7eleven stuff. You can get breakfasts for like 500 yen 🤦

My personal favorite part of Tokyo is the Ryogoku are. If you ever get a chance you should stay at the APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Ekimae Tower. They have a spa/onsen in the building and it's right next to the sumo arena!
