Who are the 144,000 really? Revelation describes them as sealed servants of God, counted from the twelve tribes of Israel and later called the firstfruits standing with the Lamb. But centuries earlier, the Book of Enoch described the righteous and the elect, the corruption of the Watchers, Noah’s preservation through the Flood, and heavenly records connected with judgment and the fate of humanity.
In this video, we follow the evidence from Mount Hermon and the Watchers to Noah, the heavenly tablets, the mysterious number 144,000, and the strange descriptions found in Revelation 7 and 14. Were the 144,000 simply the holiest saints ever to live, a literal group from Israel, a symbolic remnant, or something more complex?
We’ll separate what the ancient texts actually say from later interpretations and explore the older apocalyptic pattern that may help explain why these people are sealed before judgment begins.

This distinction is important when discussing the Book of Enoch and other ancient writings that are not included in most Bibles. Their exclusion should not be described simply as a group of Christians meeting centuries later and deciding to remove books from the Bible. The biblical canon developed over time as Jewish and Christian communities recognized certain writings as authoritative Scripture, while other writings—although known, respected, and sometimes quoted—were not received into the canon by most traditions.
The Book of Enoch illustrates this well. Modern scholarship regards 1 Enoch as a collection of writings composed by different authors over a period of centuries, long after the historical Enoch described in Genesis. Yet that does not mean everything preserved in Enoch is necessarily false or fabricated.
Jude 14–15 is particularly important because Jude states, “Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied,” and then records a prophecy closely corresponding to 1 Enoch 1:9. Jude's use of that material demonstrates that authentic or authoritative material can be preserved within a larger noncanonical work without requiring us to conclude that the entire surviving Book of Enoch was written by Enoch or that every part of it is inspired Scripture.
The Bible itself refers to other writings that are not part of the biblical canon. Therefore, quotation, reference, or historical usefulness does not automatically establish inspiration of the entire source. The proper distinction is between truth contained in an ancient writing and the divine inspiration and canonical authority of the writing as a whole.
So, the fact that Enoch or another ancient manuscript contains material consistent with Scripture—or even material cited by Scripture—is not sufficient by itself to establish that the entire document belongs in the Bible.
Noa's birth sets him apart from the rest of humans since his time. The description of Noa's birth is truly amazing.
