I do like Laurent Perrier too. Great session guys!

As a "cool kid sommelier", I completely agree that there is nothing wrong with how most of the entry-level Grande Marque Champagnes taste, but I have every problem with how expensive they are in the UK in relation to the quality you can get from Grower Champagne at the same price point. As shown here, the Andre Clouet comes in at a similar price point, and even cheaper than the Veuve, and is a Grand Cru wine rated as their #1 pick. For the style of Champagne that I prefer, I will always see greater value, style, and individuality in grower Champagne :)

70+ years and I’m still learning. You have developed a channel that is both amusing and complex. Much like the wines you meticulously critique. Bravo

Peter, you remind me of my dad   who was a sommelier & sold fine wines in the N End in Boston. He always said that everyone has their own pallet. I really miss him & watching this made me feel he was watching you with me. 🍾🥂

For a recipe to celebration we had a bottle of veuve and a bottle of Moët. None of us had had them and we were all used to $15 “champagne”. EVERYONE immediately remarked that veuve was a massive leap over anything we had had before. None of the younger people preferred  the Moët and some complained that it was too acidic.

My uncle used to say, "if I want bubbles in my wine, I'll fart in it". That was a good review!

love seeing peter pampered with bubbles! cheers~

Love the honesty of your tasting notes. Appears that champagne is meant to be more loose and fun to taste, not to be as critical necessarily. Jay you tha man!

This Chanel is the only thing that makes me look forward to Monday’s, thank you
