Nick you are so very fortunate to have a very understanding father! My dad passed away before I had chance to have that talk. My late significant other passed away just shy of his 95th birthday. I was 22yrs younger than him. We've been together since 1975.

Nick, this has to be your best video to date. Packed with so much that I know it will ring out to that person needing to hear things from a parent’s point of view.

Your father is a sweet guy that try to understand rather than judge. Then he said my words, that’s for Jesus to do that. It was beautiful to hear him say that. I wish everyone could be exactly like him.

you and your dad definitely sound alike! getting people like your dad to understand that being gay ISN'T a life-style, it's who you are. Being rich and able to afford to drive a porsche and buy any kind of cheese you want when you want it IS a life STYLE, but being gay just happens to be a part of who you are and can't be changed, it's SET and not STYLED. If it was a style it could be easily restyled to a hetero life. Like a straight person isn't living a hetero "life style", they are just straight and thats who they are. same thing with gay people or any other person on the spectrum of human sexuality. Thats why it sucks when straight people think being gay is a lifestyle, they are assuming it can changed IF YOU WANT TO, but as a gay man who has been gay since I was a kid I can and HATED himself for being gay and tried to change I can say it ISN'T a lifestyle that I created, it's a situation deep within me that I have to accept. Getting rid of my family was also a choice i had to make because they were SO angry at me for "choosing" to be gay. I couldn't explain it anymore to them so for my own sanity I had to cut them off so I didn't have to hear the nasty things they thought about me anymore. nice you have a relationship with your dad though, nice to see him willing to discuss it, mine never would.

Your acceptance must be very comforting for Nick, my dad didn't the first year and then he had a change of heart realising that it didn't change who I was. I ended up working with my dad my whole career as an electrician. 👍❤️

I came out in a very religious family many years ago, it took some years to all come together but my father and I are best friends ! Love my dad and would be lost without him, so proud of him!
