hey friends, hope you're doing well! we're finally heading out of the winter trenches over here! 🙌 what is your fave needle set atm?

I’ve been looking into getting this needle set, this was such a helpful video for me! Thank you!!

Hi! Congratulations on your new Chiaogoo needles ! Tip: That little red heart is to be used when you tighten the needles.  Using it with the T-pin should secure your tips very well.  I believe the reason the cables are so specific is that it ensures that smooth transition between the cord and the needles.  Signed, a long-time Chiaogoo fan in Virginia.  🙋🏽‍♀💜🧶

If your needles are coming unscrewed, use the tightening keys and red silicon disc, and give them a nice, strong turn.  You aren’t going to hurt them.  I have used these needles every day for 10+ years, and have never had them unscrew.  Most folks among my acquaintance who have complained about this with their interchangeables (not just Chiaogoo) admit they don’t take the extra few seconds to do that.  It makes a huge difference.

I recently bought the same set!  If I need a larger size, I will buy it or use my bamboo ones.

I have two Chiaogoo needle sets - mini and small. One thing I didn’t realize is that if you want to use a larger size needle than is included in the set you will also need an adaptor so the needle can attach to the cords! I bought a separate pair of 6mm 5 inch needle tips and then realized the didn’t fit on my cords from my small set 😢

Thank you for sharing this! I have been thinking of trying the metal needles — I’ve been a wooden needle girlie all my life. I’ve been using the ChiaoGoo wooden interchangeable needles (Spin) for many, many years and absolutely love them. The cables do have some memory, but they spin at the join so they never get too twisted. However, I do wish they were compatible with the coated steel cables. I’m thinking of getting a mini set of the metal ones for more small gauge options.

If you’re thinking of getting into sock knitting I can highly, highly recommend two at a time socks using magic loop! No need for shorties and no second sock syndrome! I’ve even started doing sleeves that way as well. I love sock knitting because it’s not the time commitment of a sweater, but there are still a million options for construction techniques, stitch patterns, colorwork, etc to keep it interesting.

What wood needles were you using before?
