This story is the saddest in the history of the Companions. The death of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the greatest loss felt by the Companions, to the point that even fellow companions like Umar ibn Khattab could not believe the reality of the Prophet's death. The Companions' love for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was undeniable, and the togetherness they shared with him filled the Companions and the city of Medina in general with grief. There are many valuable lessons for us to learn from the story of the Prophet Muhammad's death.
