“The primary goal of the National Police is to maintain public order as a necessary condition for the exercise of public rights and freedoms, and to ensure that the inhabitants of Colombia live together in peace, based on the police code of ethics.”

The Directorate of Citizen Security's mission is to maintain the necessary conditions for the exercise of public rights and freedoms through citizen participation, by strategically directing police services, and by implementing and strengthening the Comprehensive Management System in regional commands, metropolitan police forces, police departments, and the Special Operations Units Command, in order to contribute to ensuring and maintaining security, public order, solidarity, and the rule of law.
