Just when you think you’ve reached the highest level of DIY chain waxing, oz cycle pulls out carnauba wax out of nowhere and opens up new opportunities to raise the bar even higher.
I've been waxing my chains since the 1980's and considered myself an expert on the subject. I find every OZ Cycle chain waxing video very humbling for me. 🤣
this is so comprehensive, practical, and well organized. thank you so much!!! i've been waxing my chain for several years but i still found a number of good tips. the self-tapping screw trick is so good!!
Always thought Silca was an Italian company. Now realised it is now from the USA. I am now jumping down the rabbit hole of chain waxing. Ordered my paraffin, PTFE, graphite, and crockpot (used with a digital temperature control - apparently all models do not have temperature control specifically). Great channel!
Love the knowledge you share on YouTube. I have been waxing my chains for the last couple years and so very thankful to have learned so much from you. Grace & Peace from Florida, USA
Thank you a great update. I thought I had everything covered when it came to waxing chains, but your extra tips are fantastic. Deceptively simple, but far more practical and efficient, I am not aware of any other posts on waxing that is thorough and as informative as what you provide. I am really appreciative of the trouble you must go to in producing your presentations, but in every instance they are just so worthwhile. Again, my very sincere thanks
In my country candle wax or grave candle insert wax are wrong idea because usually its not pure paraffin wax. Refined paraffin is right choice but seller should be sure that its pure petroleum wax not wax made from plant oils or mix of them. Thats my strategy 🙂 (excuse my english)
Major Update in the long journey of OzCycle wax processes... This is the right way to go in regard to fun, performance, trust and pocket. The last drive train last 44,000km (Cassette, Chain Ring, Pulley), quick-link 15,000km, doing a chain service every 222km using and rotating a set of Wippermann Connex chains (3x) and recycling of the wax block from dirt... Only the long journey in mostly wet conditions (5,000km trip to Scandinavia) forced me to switch back to oil · temporarily - due to this demanding weather conditions... Again, @oz cycle, thank you for all these community tipps. Es grüsst IMCR - Ralf Venske (Biker) from Germany!
Theres some Solid tips ! i make my own wax with parrafin but ive used aluminium powder . But now im buying ptfe powder and try that way instead . Thanks Oz Cycle .
Great video! I started waxing because of your videos so e years ago. Be aware some candles (those which are cast into transparent plastic sleeves) are made of some cheap strange wax which does not stick well and doesn't last not even one ride all goes off like fine powder and chain is like rattlesnake. I am using tungsten sulfide it's black and it's heavier that wax so it's settling down like impurities, but performs well.
