Edit:
I didn't know many people would request me to share but here it is.
1. Get a quran teacher. The teacher should be a strong hafidh and a good teacher. No compromise. Remember, someone that is not a hafidh himself cannot teach you to be a hafidh. There is an exception sometimes but this is the general rule. If you can't find one at all then find the best person you can get but on the condition that they can read the quran with tajweed. You can also find an online teacher in extreme cases.
2. Start with a small portion that you can memorize. I will share how you will memorize the portion at the end of this. Memorize this one day or 2 before you read in front of your ustad.
3. Be consistent. Do NOT stop. Make lots of dua. Wake up at night and ask Allah to make it easy.
4. Listen to the portion of quran that you currently are as many times as possible. Do not listen to anyone. Listen to actual reciters of the quran.
5. After you read from memory and your teacher approves it, now is the time for revision. For revision, you're gonna read yesterday's portion and today's portion at once. Prepare it and read it from memory. Next day it will be the portion of the 1st day, 2nd day and 3rd day. Next day will be 4 portions etc. Do this till you complete the whole juz or para. After that stop everything and work on this juz for a few days. Read it as many times as possible. Revise it and read it on your teacher. If you have any mistake, your teacher will point it out. You should read it flawlessly.
6. After you memorized the juz, go ahead now to the next one. Slow by slow. Remember what matters is not speed but the accuracy of your memory and consistency.
Regarding how you will memorize a portion
1. Read the 1st line 30 times while looking at it very intently.
2. Test yourself by reading the line without looking at the mushaf.
3. Read 15 times and test yourself.
4. If you feel like you have captured it move one, otherwise repeat the cycle. 30 times, test, 15 times, test etc
5. Go to the 2nd line. Do the same - 30 times, test, 15 times, test.
6. Now read the 1st and 2nd line 30 times, test, 15 times, test. (Same as before).
7. If youre confident move to the third line. 30 times, test, 15 times, test.
8. Now read the 3 lines 30 times, test yourself by reading while not looking at the mushaf, then 15 times, then test.
9. Move to the 4th line. Go on like that. Make sure you be very strict on yourself.
NOTE: Before memorizing, read it from the mushaf while your teacher is listening so that you memorize the correct thing and not something wrong. ( if you memorize a wrong thing, it is very hard to correct it later on )
Lastly: it is advisable that you pray thr night prayer or salatul layl or tahajud with what you memorized. Ask Allah to make it easy for you.
I ask Allah to make us huffadh of the quran that understand its meaning and implement it in their lives.
We ask Allah to give us jannatul firdaws in akhira and righteousness and tranquility in this dunya.
Amin Amin Amin
Lastly, make dua for me and you and for all the muslims.
