My impression about the Isabelle "AAAA" town dialogue was that it was a joke about people who don't care and would just spam one character for their town name, before abandoning the town for years.

The idea of ign reviewing a CALCULATOR as if it's a game release is absolutely hilarious

I know it is a joke about people being lazy with town names, but i find it funny that the mayor was just some dude who constantly was screaming due to insanity and just one day run straight into the woods never coming back.

The AAAAA town is absolutely a joke about young children and/or people who just don't care enough to name it properly

My childhood town on GC was called something like that iirc

To this day, I still use the clock app on the 3DS.  The second alarm is Resetti's theme, and it's so loud and dissonant that it functions as one of the best alarms I've ever had.

Let’s be honest, Isabelle’s old town of “AAAAA” in HHD was definitely intentional.

Face it, we all know a kid who played exactly like that.

I got Amiibo Festival for Christmas in 2015 and then me and my brother proceeded to get horribly sick. We sat down to play a game of Amiibo Festival and I remember fighting to stay awake. By the end, my brother had passed out and I was lazily tapping both of our figures to finish the game. I don't know whether it was the illness we faced or if Amiibo Festival was just that boring, but that's our story.

my mom loved pocket camp, she basically 100% the damn thing with how much stuff she had and completed! when i used to play (which was never often), her camp was always changing to fit with so many themes and holidays, even stuff not being celebrated ingame. she had an amazing flower garden, like every single villager unlocked, and generally really took good care of it. i remember her telling me she caved and bought the membership thing lmfao (she said it was kiiiinda worth it). when the game came to a close, she had already drifted off from it as her new job took up a lot of her time, along with me with high school and our baby sister preparing for school after i graduated. i never played it much, but im glad my mom loved it

The megalovania town tune in the clock app fried my brain for a second, because that's my town tune in city folk and I was immediately tricked into thinking I was somehow playing my game while watching this video lmao

No joke, the Animal Crossing Clock was my daily alarm clock for years 🤣

This is actually a result of YouTube automatically setting the video as For Kids sometime ago. I know this because I remember seeing comments for this back then.

I figure the "AAAAA" thing was just a reference to players who don't care too much, naming their towns by buttonmashing and then not playing for a while.

Anyway, I'm glad that you talked about Plaza. It was a bit of a stopgap measure until they got Miiverse running on the 3DS but it was pretty neat.

7:33 oh my GOD SOMEONES FINALLY TALKING ABOUT IT
As a kid, I LOVED using the app since there wasnt really any other Animal Crossing media on the Wii U (at least in 2014), and the polls were pretty fun... Until I realized my votes for actual villagers didnt matter and Isabelle would win regardless :/
I remember making tons of posts advocating for Nintendo to remove "special characters" from the app so that the polls would be a bit more fair on Miiverse, but obviously nothing came of that haha

IGN rated the DSi AC calculator better than Mario and Luigi Brothership

Fun fact: Happy Home Designer also contained early unfinished models for all of the returning Villagers reintroduced in Welcome Amiibo.

rest in peace, pocket camp. ToT

Don't think I didn't see you write 80085 on the animal crossing calculator

I do hope that the Pocket Camp Complete Apk can be modified to grant the old exclusive Items to players. The data is in the app for old owners, so maybe there is a glimmer of hope for anyone who missed out on it.

6:13 I'm guessing they're both just jokes referring to people mashing the 'A' button while setting up their villages.
