Tingle is cursed so that his lifeforce is eternally bound to his wealth.  If he runs out of money, he will die. That is why he needs rupees so badly.

I feel like the "Adult" and "Downfall" timelines should've been swapped
(Or as I called to call the Wind Waker branch, The gods f*cked up timeline)

If people say Wind Waker is this cutesy kid game, the fact that it is likely that a majority of people in Hyrule perished in the Great Flood is an excellent counter argument.

I think some people will be surprised at how dark this game can be, especially given it’s reputation of turning Zelda more cutesy

36:25 Ganondorf was NOT a sympathetic villain.  The whole, “I just wanted better for my people” bit was a lie.  This is the same Ganondorf that ruled Hyrule for seven years in OoT.  And in all of that time what did he do for the Gerudo?  Nothing!  He didn’t move them to the castle or castle town.  He left them in the harsh desert.  Not even bothering to fix the bridge to the fortress essentially trapping them there!  Didn’t even make their lives easier there.

On the topic of reincarnation, the Era Without a Hero makes a lot of sense when taking into account that Twilight Princess had two Links, with the second being the Hero's Shade, the ghost of the Hero of Time who was sent back in time from the Adult Timeline.

Since he was never able to move on, it would make sense that he could then never reenter the cycle of reincarnation, thus leaving his native timeline without a hero. TP Link would then be the Spirit of the Hero displaced by AT OOT Link, or it could even be that OOT Link indeed possessed both the CT and AT versions of the Hero Spirit by the end of OOT.

If we assume that Ganondorf was sealed for a similar amount of time in each timeline, the Era Without a Hero would actually be taking place around the time of Twilight Princess, so it would have been just too late for OOT Link to reincarnate back into the AT.

Since it's been confirmed multiple times that Link does reincarnate and heavily implied if not outright confirmed that Zelda does as well (and it really would make sense that most people would, as we see Tingle, Beedle, and Malon a few times), I think the idea of some new spirit occupying the role of the Hero would be really odd, and the KORL saying WW Link is unrelated to the Hero of Time likely is because he is, as far as he is concerned, a completely different person.

And, while interaction between timelines like that might be odd, it doesn't really surpass OOT's own timeline shenanigans, especially since TOTK seems to imply that the "Land of the Dead" isn't subject to the same rules of time, with the Depths having Link's outfits from across different timelines.

First I want to thank you so much for your MM video. I broke my wrist this year and watching it post surgery was one of the few comforts I had when I couldn't sleep? Anyways I will try and recommending video to as many people as possible!
Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda. Maybe it's because it's the game that came out when I was a kid (I'm 27) but the entire vibe always appealed to me. I never understood people who claimed it was a childish game. There are so many creepy moments in this game and it genuinely has one of the best stories in Zelda. My only complaint is I wish it was longer but knowing development stuff I can see why it got "rushed" so to speak.

While I still prefer the look of Oot and TP, I think The Wind Wakers simplified cartoonish design with bold colors aged really well! And the look of the ocean and some islands in this game has a certain magic.

I still question some ideas like why the water had to be toxic from the gods, and the zora being turn into birds. Imagine if the sea had schools of fish and whales when viewing it underwater in the old castle, would have been a super atmospheric sight. Then also all the plotholes of people being called fishermen, and all the populations having no solid food sources wouldn't have been an issue making it feel ungrounded in my mind.

I like the bird people but the zora really were robbed thematically in this game cause Hyule literally has a sea in this timeline, when theyre usually stuck to just living in a lake and caves.

Hyrule Warriors music and thumbnail, Thane Gaming knows ball

I will be honest, i've always interpreted the fact that final fight with ganondorf as him letting himself die for having lost all will to live, to "covet hyrule's wind", choosing to drown with his lost ambitions and break the cycle once and for all

20:04 i never spotted that before, never thought of ever looking up everytime i have played and now that i see that. I feel uncomfortable.

5:27 that guy was also in Hyrule though

I was surprised to see that you're a small creator! The video was very high quality and fun :) I'll definitely be coming back for more

This was my first video game ever so it’s automatically my favorite.

I love the charm and sense of adventure Wind Waker has, and the story is pretty good, too (though the pacing can be rough), but by far my least favorite aspect has always been the meager and less-than-high-quality suite of dungeons…

so imagine this:
- the cut dungeon for Nauru’s Pearl, ‘Shipwreck Cove’ or something, modeled after that chip graveyard grotto from later in the game, with water/tide/wave mechanics, and ghosts and Stalfos enemies.

- in place of the ‘Tower of the Gods’ (my very least favorite 3D Zelda dungeon), Hyrule Castle itself is the mid-game transition dungeon… instead of a boss key, we collect replicas of the Spiritual Stones from OOT, and place them in the pedestal of the Link statue in the central hall… and then the statue itself comes to life as the dungeon boss 🤙

- the late-game dungeons would be completable in any order, and maybe they’re actually located in the submerged Hyrule below the sea, with short Hyrule-based sections before each dungeon?

- late-game one: ‘the Temple of Earth,’ but it’s a fire/lava-based dungeon… though that might be perilous for Makar (because it makes more sense that the bird companion helps us in wind-based dungeon, don’t you think?)

- second late-game dungeon, ‘the Temple of Waves,’ a water-based dungeon, with a Goron as our companion (as we see they don’t need to breathe air in TP), and maybe we even find a whole submerged Goron village that the rest of the world doesn’t even know exists 🤷🏻‍♂️

- third late-game dungeon, ‘the Temple of Winds,’ with Medli… it can be the same as the existing ‘Wind Temple,’ I suppose…

- final late-game dungeon: ‘the Temple of Sun and Stars,’ that a light/dark-themed dungeon, with puzzles built around constellations and such… located on/under Outset Island… and our companion… 🥁🥁🥁 Link’s Grandma!

- also, I have fewer ideas for fixing the Triforce Shard quest… but what if each is hidden in a previously inaccessible room in each of the dungeons, with a small puzzle or combat challenge required?  ehh, I’m not sure 🤷🏻‍♂️

- and the Forsaken Fortress has always been rather boring to me, especially since we have to revisit it… the Helmaroc King fight is pretty cool, though.  but what if returning to the same location, Ganon’s base is a large ship that moves around the map each time we visit it, and the mooring spot is the actual part we play though?

I like to think Link burned the boat not long afterwards as a final send off to the King

Love Wind Waker
