Dreissen would have been a star on any other team. But he unselfishly waited his turn and was productive off the bench. The reds had bench and a great “bench” as well. Everyone knew their role.

I worked security for the Yankees in the 70s, right next to the home plate end of the dugout. Couldn't have a better seat anywhere in the house.
