The Pamir Highway is one of Central Asia's great adventure routes. In this documentary, I travel through Tajikistan along the border with Afghanistan, from Dushanbe to Langar, exploring the Panj River valley, remote villages, and some of the most isolated areas of the Pamir Mountains.

In this first part of my journey along the Pamir Highway, I depart from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, heading towards Langar, following a route that runs alongside the Panj River, the natural border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan for much of this journey.

On the other side of the river lies Afghanistan. Along the way, we'll discover what life is like in this remote region, visit small mountain communities, and venture into territories far from the usual tourist routes.

A journey along challenging roads, through breathtaking landscapes, and to places rarely seen in travel documentaries. An opportunity to get up close to one of the least-known regions of Central Asia and better understand the reality of those who live along this border.
