Forgot to add this in the video, but I was wearing a mask while shaving the fur! Please wear a mask when shaving to prevent inhaling the fur particles (faux fur and lungs do not mix)

3d printed bases make fursuit making so much more accessible and beginner friendly!!! I personally think they are way better to use than foam when making your own base without the years of experience :3

2 tips for anyone that may need them
☆Patterning: Label your pieces a & b or whatever letters or shapes you find easy to work with; avoid L & R as when working inside out it can be confusing. This does two things 1, makes matching pieces together easier and 2, avoids confusing your left and right like I said. So when you go to sew your pieces, you should have an 'a' set and a 'b' set; this is extremely helpful if your character has symmetrical colors.
☆Painting eyes: using canned air is a life saver for cleaning out the mesh. This is best done before the paint dries and I recommend spraying the mush on the opposite side of the painted side after every layer. It doesn't 100% get all the paint, but it will get most of it and make poking out the holes a lot better

Tip when patterning with duct tape: cover the item tightly in cling wrap and then tape to make it easier to remove

4:57 please take this kindly and gently, but omg please get your scissors sharpened (speaking from experience, it makes a world of difference!)

Use a hair dryer on cold when ur doing the eye mesh to clean the mesh of any paint so it doesn't clog the mesh up helps so u don't have to individually poke it out(blow dry when paint is wet)

I'm also working on a 3D printed headbase of my fursona! she's a snow leopard, but I still have a long way to go like getting my sewing machine back from being serviced and figuring out hinging the jaw since it's a PLA head with a moving jaw ;u;

Not a furry but adore crafts and costumes, you guys are so cool.

Professional tip-Pin items on where they should go before glueing or sewing, that way you only have to attach once. Love the new head, keep being creative!

omg the struggle with the headstraps!!!! relatable. i followed the exact same tutorial/pattern for my wip fursuit and kept sewing them on wrong!!! i had to cut out several centimeters out of my lining fabric + the headstraps to resew them 😭

watching you use that sewing machine as a beginner is so so so satisfying
