This time, while riding my wife's Rebel, I'll reflect on the criteria I've used to choose motorcycles over the years.

At 16, I fell in love at first sight with the Yamaha MR50.

My admiration for Steve McQueen led me to choose the Honda Elsinore 250.

And then, I switched to the CB550Four, captivated by the sound of its four-cylinder engine.

When I was younger, my main criterion for choosing a motorcycle was whether it "looked cool at first sight," rather than focusing on detailed performance or price.

However, now that I'm approaching 68, I've started to consider things like the weight of the bike, how easy it is to put my feet down, handling, brakes, fuel efficiency, and minimum turning radius.

And recently, I've started to think about "end-of-life motorcycle planning."

This doesn't mean I'm giving up motorcycles immediately.

Should I downsize the engine, or return to my roots with off-road bikes? I'm thinking about a change that will allow me to continue enjoying motorcycles safely for a long time to come.

What criteria do you use to choose a motorcycle?

Appearance and love at first sight
Performance and equipment
Price and maintenance costs
Foot placement and handling
Feeling during a test ride

Also, what are your thoughts on "end-of-life planning for motorcycles"? Please share your experiences in the comments section, whether you've downsized your engine, switched to a lighter bike, or even given up riding altogether.

In the latter half of the video, we also discuss the following:

Reasons to be careful about motorcycle accidents during commutes
The danger of becoming complacent on familiar roads
Important things for beginners to improve
Riding position to avoid blind spots of large vehicles
