I used to LOVE this as a child! This was so funny! Loved it when Madge visited the contestants houses! Lol so funny when the contestants realised the house was theirs in the show!

as a kid Dame Edna was always a show you didn’t want to miss.

20yrs later,  and the opening 'Shrub reference still stands up :)  God, Dame Edna & Barry will be sorely missed - those heels are going to be hard to fill.

I didn't realize the show was on here! Used to watch Dame Edna all the time back in the day!

Didn't understand Dame Edna as a kid but got to my teenage years when this was on and finally understood she was funny. Liked watching this show.

I remember this show on one episode they went upstairs and there was a potty with a turd in it, Dame Edna pulled her funny face and there was uproar in the audience.

I love that "husband #2" was actually Barry Humphries. The contestant was so cute. I loved when Dame Edna asked which was her actual husband & she said "none, not after tonight." Such a fun episode!

What A LUCKY human being!!!!!!!!!!! He was loved, he was allowed to be him and he is DEFINITELY Edna without having to pretend! He's quite her !!! AND he's been able to enjoy it, too! TOO LUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was introduced to Dame E in Australia in 1981 when my hosts showed me her “coffee table book”. On the last day of my visit I cooked supper and served, with great flourish, a dip from the book that consisted of a can of smoked oysters mixed with a can of condensed milk. Ugh. I think I told them it was “my grandmother’s secret recipe” or something like that. Everybody raved about the dip and pressed me for the recipe until I made the fatal mistake of telling them the truth. They did not think it was a bit funny, but if Barry’s up in heaven reading YouTube comments I’m sure he’s having a good laugh.

I would of died a thousand deaths 😂 if dame Edna would’ve done that to me 😂Barry you truly was a genius 😂
