Spain Broke Every World Cup Record And Nobody Noticed

Global Kickoff

Spain just won the 2026 World Cup with the most dominant defensive performance in tournament history and the football world barely noticed. One goal conceded in eight matches. Seven clean sheets, the most ever in a single World Cup. An expected goals against of just 0.3 across the entire tournament. In the final against Argentina, Spain had twenty shots to Argentina's two, put twelve on target while Argentina managed zero, and did not allow a single shot on target from the defending world champions. Ferran Torres scored the extra time winner in the 106th minute. Pau Cubarsi, just nineteen years old, won the Young Player Award after anchoring the defense from center back in every match. Spain now holds the Euros, the World Cup, and the Olympic gold medal simultaneously. Luis de la Fuente became the oldest manager to ever win the World Cup. And yet the entire conversation after the final was about Messi's retirement. This video breaks down why Spain's 2026 World Cup campaign deserves to be remembered as the greatest defensive tournament run ever played.

Spain is winning in women and sub 21 football and their stars are really young, right know Cubarsi and Lamine are the players with the biggest chance to win 2, 3 or even 4 world cups in their career, breaking the record of pelee

100% Spain performance was Amazing, and was not acknowledged . Records were broken and were mentioned like were not important important and some reporters even said but is boring... the dirty play is more appreciated, I guess🤷 🤷 . Well done Spain!! For the ones who appreciate good soccer with class this team were AMAZING ❤❤❤

You haven't mentioned about teams attitude. Some teams have crazy attitude, some have broken one, some don't have any, some have weak one, and Spain has the right attitude. I was expecting that Spain will win because I saw their good attitude and very happy for their success.

Ami me encanta que el equipo pase desapercibido, es España en su salsa, la fama no es lo nuestro.

España salvó el prestigio del fútbol. Juego inteligente y deportividad.

I don't know about the US, but the whole world cheered for Spain, the world was happy to see Spain win and saw Spain lift the cup with joy. messi was of no interest to them.

This is unfair criticism. What stole the narrative was Argentina players brawling after the match and their negative football during the match. Also that stolen goal. But those of us who know football recognize Spain are the deserving champions!

Its called the Black Legend. Its a congenital hatred of Spain and The Church. Its the English, and Dutch and those who chose to leave Spain.

The Spanish national team is devastating if their opponents and the sports press know nothing about their style of play. Argentina has been a good example of this. After spending days insulting them on social media, Spain utterly destroyed the Argentine national team on the pitch and mentally shattered their sports press, to such an extent that they now need conspiracy theories to prevent their brains from self-destructing. That is the only way to explain the violence at the end of the match.

Good video!

When you are talking about Cubarsi, the 19 year old defender, pictures are not of him but of Oyarzabal.

Messi came to Spain when he was 13 to the Barcelona academy
He became what he IS in Spain. Sorry.

Spain has a bunch of amazing players and all I ever see is Yamal

@Otromundista 2 months ago

not even your video showed Cubarsi in the narrative, but Oyarzabal

Tengamos además en cuenta que jugadores importantes no estaban al 100%, Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal o Rodri, casi nada, y el goleador de los Juegos Olímpicos, Fermín no pudo ir por lesión, se rompió un dedo
