I love this video which shows so much variety which is missing in 2023

Oh happy days, sea, sun and trains!!  What more did we need . . . 😎😎👍👍👍👍

if only we could go back to a time like this, when we had more variety in trains, no plastic copies

The Duff with the two BSKs were probably on a DMU substitute.  It's an interesting scratch rake but something that the modern railway would be able to accommodate today.

It's one for railway modellers, too!

Oh how I miss DMUs. Good to see Exeters scratch set having an outing too. Great to see a bit of the old flailing too as the normals look on somewhat bemused 😁

Thank you. So many memories of watching trains scream by from Teignmouth sea wall. I miss hanging out of the train windows!

Excellent, takes me back to happy memories of Devon and diesels.

This takes me right back to those seemingly endless summer days just up the coast at Lyme. It’s beautifully shot, really was back there watching with you, could almost feel the heat of the sun. Wonderful

Fantastic video. Takes me back to my childhood days when we used to spend hours down at Dawlish on the beach watching the trains go by. Thanks.

Lovely video which brings back so many nostalgic memories of my most excellent child hood holidays!

Ahhhh Nostalgia

47241 - 13th July 1990 - on it Newton Abbott to Barnstaple, and back to Exeter. Great days.

What a fantastic video. Thks for sharing.

That short train - possible DMU substitute - was the particularly most interesting part of the video. The only other time I've seen 2 blue/grey mk1s behind a diesel loco was on the mainline passing Toddington motorway services, roughly around the same era as this enjoyable selection was filmed.

The good old days when BR was a pleasure to watch and travel on. Hopeless now fuelled by strikes and delays.

This is an amazing quality video from that time in history, i really enjoyed it...thanks for posting it.

You look at this like a vision of perfection compared to the horrendous state of our nation now

Nice stuff!
As a railway modeller, it's really cool to have good enough definition to be able to read the numbers on the coaches!
A bit of a rarity was the 3-car 101 with a TBSL (with guards compartment) in the middle... those were few and far between, even in 1990!
The HST on a wrong-line-working a6 6:00 was unexpected!

47s looked fantastic lovely bit of clag with swallow mk2F 😊

These AI remasters are superb thank you so much for sharing keep them coming please 👍
