You don't go to a Heilung concert, you bear witness with mind, body, and soul to a Heilung Ritual.

I was so privileged to have a wonderful wife who caught wind of this very performance and flew us to Denver for my birthday to attend this ritual. Such a stunning venue for it, and as she mentioned ( 5:20 ), the wind swirling the fog was sort of mesmerizing. I was lucky to catch them two more times on their long ass tour and cannot recommend it enough. As someone who did not grow up with religion and never adopted it in my adult life, it was one of the most spiritual experiences I’ve ever had.

This is not a concert. This is an event. A ritual. Almost an out of body experience.!

I was at this ritual, it was intense to say the least, I had tears flowing pretty much the whole time. It was absolutely a spiritual experience

The song "Traust" (Trust) is one of Heilung's most positive works, as it is a ritual that invokes blessings and a spell for releasing someone from bonds. Humans enslave, the Goddess releases.

I was actually there at this concer in Red Rocks, Colorado. Seeing them under the full moon was just MAGICAL!!

Originally featuring in Heilung’s 2019 studio album, Futha, Traust‘s lyrics were written in Old High German, but using Old Norse and Icelandic for the phonetics.

"Traust" in the context of the band Heilung means "trust" or "confidence", and it also has roots in the Old Norse word "traust," which carries similar meanings of trust, security, and shelter. Heilung's song "Traust" incorporates lyrics from ancient Germanic spells, including a blessing to release a bound warrior. "Traust"  is part of their album "Futha," known for evoking female strength and fertility. The song's performance often includes a ritualistic element of a woman being bound and then symbolically freed, representing a release from hardship or captivity.

Translation:

Heilung – Trust
Once sat women, they sat here, then there.
Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army,
Some unraveled fetters:
Escape the bonds, flee the enemy!

Then first I will chant thee
The charm oft-tried,
That Rani taught to Rind;
From the shoulder whate’er
Mislikes thee shake,
For helper thyself shalt thou have.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then next I will chant thee,
If needs thou must travel,
And wander a purposeless way:
The bolts of Urth
Shall on every side
Be thy guards on the road thou goest.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then third I will chant thee,
If threatening streams
The danger of death shall bring:
Yet to Hel shall turn
Both Horn and Ruth,
And before thee the waters shall fail.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then fourth I will chant thee,
If come thy foes
On the gallows-way against thee:
Into thine hands
Shall their hearts be given,
And peace shall the warriors wish.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then fifth I will chant thee,
If fetters perchance
Shall bind thy bending limbs:
O’er thy thighs do I chant
A loosening-charm,
And the lock is burst from the limbs,
And the fetters fall from the feet.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then sixth I will chant thee,
If storms on the sea
Have might unknown to man:
Yet never shall wind
Or wave do harm,
And calm is the course of thy boat.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then seventh I chant thee,
If frost shall seek
To kill thee on lofty crags:
The fatal cold
Shall not grip thy flesh,
And whole thy body shall be.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then eighth will I chant thee,
If ever by night
Thou shalt wander on murky ways:
Yet never the curse
of a Christian woman
From the dead shall do thee harm.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Then ninth will I chant thee,
If needs thou must strive
With a warlike giant in words:
Thy heart good store
Of wit shall have,
And thy mouth of words full wise.

(I wash off the hatred of my enemies and the theft and anger of rich men.)

Once sat women, they sat here, then there.
Some fastened bonds, some impeded an army,
Some unraveled fetters:
Escape the bonds, flee the enemy!

I had the pleasure of seeing Heilung earlier this year and it was such an amazing experience. The stage show is absolutely insane. It was like watching a play with enchanting music ❤

The only time Ive seen any of them break character was at the Adelaide ritual in Nov 2024. I was lucky enough to have met some of the members of the band. I had gifted them some traditional items from our local community and every single member was giving me a subtle acknowledgement of thanks. But Kai! He played a trick on me. During this ritual he went to throw the rope to me - i was front row in the audience - and at the last second he pulled it back so I couldnt get it. He then gave me this wicked grin which was epic coming from under his mask. They are such a wonder group of humans with such loving hearts. I am so grateful and humble that I met them.

My wife and I were lucky enough to see them in red rocks Colorado and it was transcendent! Glad you like them!

Maria Franz - a true goddess!

I was lucky enough to be at one of their concerts earlier this year. It's funny that what you see in the video is exactly what you get. They never change it up or have spoken parts. It is always the same. Which just goes to show that it isn't a concert, but a complete performance. Like a play. Or actually a ritual. The only thing you don't get in the video is the smell of burnt sage coming from the stage.

I been to Heilung every year up to last year in Germany and Holland. It's amazing.

Chris, Maria, and Kai are the main members of Heilung.  They need extra people to perform their songs live.  They call their performances "rituals" instead of calling it a concert or show.  The whole 90 minute Red Rocks performance is also on youtube as "Iotungard"

The live performance of Anoana will shake your very soul. A Heilung show is a truly unforgettable experience.

Our ancient ancestors were ignorant of many things about the Mundane, but they had a much truer and more wholesome connection to each other and their environment.

I'm seeing them live for the first time tomorrow.. in an arena called Dalhalla (in Rättvik, Sweden) which is built in a limestone quarry. I haven't looked forward to a concert this much for a long time.. both the location and the band are so special.

She knows her purpose, and is fulfilling it

watching this live on shrooms was an otherworldly experience. I have never felt something like this before.

i was there!! best concert ive ever been too! nothing will come close lol 😂😆

Wow. Started tearing up seconds before Heidi said she's tearing up.
Usually it takes words to affect me.
This was crazy powerful.
