I have one of the older Scott 7 weights and its absolutely one of my favorite rods. Its accurate, powerful yet delicate and presents like a dream. Its a cannon.

Hopefully will be over from the UK next year to have a fish in this river and a lot of Colorado rivers and still waters. Will give you guys a shout

For the true beasts of that river, you need to hike down into Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Haven't been back there in years, but used to be some giants in that section of the river when I hiked down there. Not an easy hike though better be in good shape.

Great show.   We loved the Montrose area as well.  So much to do and see.

The term football is usually reserved for small mouth bass. Because they actually look like footballs...unlike brown trout

Is that first shot Palisades

Beautiful fish. Beautiful contrasting landscape.

Excelente aventura 🇦🇷

Going to be pretty honest here. I really like the New Fly Fisher. I’ve learned a lot from Mark, Tom, and everyone else as I watch videos while folding laundry and wishing I was out fishing. I’ve seen places that I would love to fish.

However, I’ve gotten pretty tired of being excited by a new video from The New Fly Fisher only to be disappointed when realize it is actually just on old video with a new name. “Gunnison River Footballs” 1:25:25 looks to be the exact same as “Hopper Time - Colorado Trout” from 6 months ago with the exact same run time of 1:25:25 and at least the same opening scenes….I didn’t watch all of both to compare. This isn’t the first time that I’ve been disappointed by The New Fly Fisher with recycled content. If you don’t have new content, that’s fine. Some of my favorite channels to watch only have new content every couple/few months and that’s okay. But don’t tell me it’s new if the only new thing is the title.

Great episode!!

Did he really say to side arm cast over your guide with your inside arm with upstream wind? Respect your guide and DONT cast over the top of them.

Chucking meat in the evening is the way to catch hogs

15” is “above average” ??? 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I just watched this one on Friday. We are floating with Ed's Fly shop this June. :)

I will say that spending time on the Gunni will ruin other rivers for you....

Yup.  Get those grass hook ups out of the way.

If there’s a more annoying guy than mark…I’ve never met them

Appreciate the music in this one. The epic transcendent music stuff is too much
