Discover the 5 forgotten yé-yé girls. Annie Philippe, Ria Bartok, Jocelyne, Tiny Yong, Clothilde. Tragic fates and voices erased by time. 2026.
They sang on the airwaves. They made all of France dance. Then they disappeared. Annie Philippe, Ria Bartok, Jocelyne, Tiny Yong, Clothilde. Five yé-yé voices erased by time.

One recorded her first record at twelve and a half. Another died in a fire at twenty-seven. A third was ranked behind Sylvie Vartan and Françoise Hardy. A fourth recorded only two records. And the fifth, the most alive of them all, is fighting today to keep her home.

The third on our list, Jocelyne, died at twenty in a motorcycle accident. She had sung at the Olympia at thirteen. She was nicknamed the French Brenda Lee. Her fate is the most tragic of all.

In this video, we tell their stories. Stories that no one tells anymore. Broken lives. Careers cut short in the prime of youth. Voices that deserve to be rediscovered.
