I met an amazing woman in Thailand. She was exactly my type—but I wasn’t ready for her, and I blew it.

This is an honest dating story about meeting someone wonderful at the wrong time. I share how we met, what drew me to her, and how my own need to heal affected a connection I wish I’d handled differently.

It’s hard to admit that you can want someone in your life and still not be ready to build something with them. Looking back, this story is as much about taking responsibility for where I was emotionally as it is about dating in Thailand.

Sometimes we focus so much on finding the right person that we forget to ask whether we’re ready to be a good partner ourselves.
