I loved how Lawson stepped in when Tom abandoned Genevieve, but honestly, I don’t think it was just “quiet kindness.” I think he felt responsible the moment he saw her there, because in small frontier communities, turning your back on someone in need could ruin your own standing. It wasn’t only about feelings — it was survival and reputation too. That’s what makes their love even stronger, because it started from duty and grew into something real.

I really enjoyed the symbolism of the way the words were used and written. Their first night in bed together was a simple n perfect fade to black moment you'd see in the old black n white  movies.

That was so nice n lovely n beautiful. With no interruptions from town folk putting their two cents in causing havoc. Gradually they began to grow on each other n love became to show. Then the family grew n so did the ranch. Southwest Ohio
