Lucky he didn’t ask John to sign the book. John said something to Ray Davies, he didn’t like in 1964, that he carries with him. Maybe Paul remembers that Phil was in the audience in A Hard Days Night and that’s what he meant by little Phil.

I imagine that when you get many mega stars together, as in the Queens jubilee, egos get inflated because they are competitive. Someone needs to be the headliner. Phil and Paul was no exception.

"Our little Phil." It's understandable why Phil took umbrage at that tasteless remark. But it's not Phil's fault that McCartney comes off a bit arrogant and egotistical from time to time. It's McCartney's problem. I'm glad he finally realized that.
