Rufus Reid is ma' main man.  When I began the double bass I started with one of his books. Didn't know where else to start nor what I was doing nor what I was getting involved and Joe from whom I bought a plywood  and Dave Hay,  got me going on these cats.  Never had the chance all these years to hear him play with JJJhonson on trombone interpreting Blue Bossa. Man o man I love these cats. it brings back those memories at JC in Grand Rapids in the 80's.  To this day, I'm beginning to understand the music idiom on the ax.  It's a life time learning experience.

I had only 2 lessons with him, but so much benefit! An amazing heartwarming educator with focus on the essientials to serve the music. 🙏🏼❤️

Gold! Every word is truth. My one quibble is that I personally, liked to pluck a little closer to the bridge. I liked to feel the corner of the fingerboard pressing into my right thumb. But I think that's just a personal preference...
