I have a 1911 Model 12c that has been "loved" quite a bit. Everything works smoothly until you fire it. The old corrosive priming material was horrible on these if they weren't properly cleaned. My chamber is pitted pretty bad. The bore is dark, and likely pitted too. It shoots fine, it just doesn't like ejecting too well. Years ago I considered having it sleeved, but never pulled the trigger on. Glad I didn't, that would have screwed up any antique value on this rifle.

Might want to reassess your date of manufacture. According to the Remington Model 12 record of sales chart, your rifle was likely made in 1917. Two clues stand out; you have an early short rear sight, and your patent dates don’t exceed 1917.

And the remington one twenty one was in twenty two winchester special , which is twice as long as the long rifle

you wont believe this , I figured it out,,, There is a tiny flathead screw at the bottom of the plunger holder that I screwed in a micro to much,, I backed that screw out a hair & the plunger went right in,  thanx

I completely disassembled a model 12 c , feels like it all went together good but now my bullet plunger will not go all the way back in, ??? it hits something about 3 " out, any ideas ?

The Model 12 is the finest pump-action .22 I have shot---except for the Model 121, which is just a little bit better.

I have a model 12c with two dovetail slots cut in the bottom of the barrel. The rearmost dovetail slot holds the front magazine tube mount and the forward dovetail slot is unused. Were longer magazine tubes optional? Or was there another use for it. Also, is a loose bolt lock-up common on these model 12s?

I have a model 12 from my grandpa but the take down screw is so tight I can't get it undone. I guess I could try vice grip but didn't want to mess it up.

Mine has a round barrel and a flat butt plate. Are these later made rifles?

I have the very same rifle and you should mention standard velocity ammo only the bolt can't tolerate the high speed ammo!

You can lower the firing pin on a model 12 by opening the action ,put the safety on fire, pull the trigger and slide the action closed SLOWLY. The FIREING pin will will go down slowly with the action. Takes some practice but I do it all the time to take the tension off of the FIREING pin spring.  SHOOT SAFE!!!!!!
