My headcannon is that the only reason Dazai didn’t kill Mori while he was in the mafia was because he didn’t want to become the boss after Mori died

I headcannon that Dazai was diagnosed with ASPD after becoming a member of the PM (as people with ASPD are diagnosed when they are 18 and older). If you don’t know what ASPD is, then I have the definition here:

Antisocial Personality Disorder. It is a mental health condition characterized by a long-term pattern of manipulating, exploiting, or violating the rights of others. People with this disorder—sometimes historically referred to as sociopaths—typically show no remorse or guilt for their actions. (Source: Mayo Clinic)

I understand that some may think he shows remorse in the ADA for what he did to Akutagawa, but we can clearly see that he doesn’t. I feel that he’s just trying to follow Oda’s last wish. As I have seen in so many GCRVs, “A flower born in darkness cannot survive in the light.” This captures Dazai’s character well in my opinion. And I know this is cruel, saying that he can never change, but he will always have that lack of remorse and that darkness inside him no matter how much he tries to hide it. And also let’s not forget that in the prison arc, he killed a whole room of people and didn’t have any remorse. And I know I’m not Asagiri, but this is what I just feel. Sure, Dazai has some acts of heroism, but that really takes away and hides the fact that it seems like he genuinely has zero remorse for what he’s done to Chuuya, Akutagawa, Q, and hell, even Atsushi. That’s all I wanted to say. Thanks.
