By far this guy is the most professional, soft spoken DEVGRU guy I have ever listened to.  What a credit to his old unit.  SALUTE!

After hearing this, I believe Bob truly saw something in Alex, and knew he had a lot more life of service ahead of him. Not that Bob didn’t, but someone was going to die, and Bob refused to let Alex be that someone.

Bob Horrigan was 7th SF,
Mike McNulty 75th Ranger
Both died the same day they were Delta Operators RIP

One of the best early episodes on Shawn Ryan, Delta Force Operator Chris Vansant talks about missing this deployment and guilt he felt when these 2 got killed. Crazy to hear the other side of it.

Bob Horrigan was a Delta Force legend.

Before we even went into Iraq 2003, Bob was a hand picked Recce Operator for Pete Blabers AFO Teams in Afghanistan. During Operation Anaconda 2002, Bob and another legendary Delta Sniper lead one of 3 AFO teams into the Shio Khat Valley. They infilled by ATV at night and set up a OP over looking the Valley. Al Qaeda, Chechen and Uzbek fighters were all around them. The other 2 members of the small AFO team was a AF Combat Controller named Jay Hill from the revered 24STS and an Army SIGNAL interceptor named Jason from the highly classified Intelligence Support Activity (ISA). These 2 guys had a very interesting working relationship in terms of what they brought to the battle space. Jay Hills job was to call precision fire on targets in the Valley and Jasons job was to intercept UHF/VHF signals and listen to the different languages and dialogue of the fighters in the Valley. Ideally, Jason was interested in the Arabic speaking fighters as they had a very good chance of being near by to a 9/11 centric HVT such as Ayman al-Zawahiri, Ramzi bin al-Shibh and even potentially UBL. If Jason could pick up an Arabic speaking fighter transmitting over a device, he had the ability to geolocate that emitter down to a very small area and would then pass those grid numbers to the CCT, who then would call fire on it.

Killed in service on his retirement tour..... son of a bich.... God rest his soul... what a hero,

This man is so humble. I was so moved by this story. Anyone who doubts PTSD is a problem must be so insanely tone deaf.

Bob was in my platoon in 3-75. I was a SSG and he was a newly tabbed SP4 when he came over from  2nd Platoon. I was looking through our year book from 1984 at our 40th reunion a couple of years ago and there was his signature. My son-in-law was working in DC for a congress woman from Maine and they send down the wreaths that are laid on the graves in Arlington at Christmas.  He ask if I knew anyone in Arlington and I rattled off a few names and said 'don't forget  Robert Horrigan'. He sent me a picture of the wreath on his grave and it was alongside another memorial plaque with the outline of Texas. His twin brother is a retired Fire fighter, they both were in Ac o 3-75 when we formed the battalion. They were wild men,  always finishing each others sentences and raising hell. Hard men, certainly the pride of Texas and the best this nation can offer.

Slow and steady wins the race...this is life! Thanks, I'll take those words of wisdom for now.

Dude, you are doing it....doesnt matter how, just that you do, in some way
Ive struggled immensely with ideations, and watching this guy has reminded me that we are on the right path

This really touched my heart. I’m sure his brother in arms is proud of him. There are true warriors and heroes still among us!

Those guys are heroes of epic proportion. God bless you and thank you for helping others like you

I was with 3/6 when we pushed thru. 3/2 had been there but couldn’t gain a foothold in the city. It was very hot at the time

Thanks! We continue to move ahead as those behind us would demand.

Bob...you are greatly missed; the world is a worse place to be without you.

This is powerful.

I loved this podcast this was heavy

What a lovely man to have on your show and God bless bob and mike and all that have fallen

Oh man. Powerful
