We came across this big corner house where the driveway and sidewalks were getting super dirty. So we figured we'd go knock on the door. What we didn't notice was the no soliciting sign, which was buried in a little pot by the porch. The homeowner answered and you could tell right away he was a little skeptical. We explained that we clean driveways and sidewalks completely free of charge and handed him a business card, but he politely turned us down. So we headed back to the truck. Luckily, we gave him that card... because while he was inside, he took a look at it and recognized the name. He talked it over with his wife and they realized they'd actually been watching our videos for years. So before we could even pull away, he came running back out waving us down. He'd changed his mind. Once we got talking, he turned into a full on fan, and it was pretty funny seeing him go from not wanting anything to do with us to telling us they'd just watched one of our videos. He told us they'd lived there about twenty years and had tried to clean it themselves, but it never really came out. So I took the lead on this one and got started on that huge driveway that runs all the way down the side of the house. And on these corner lots, the sidewalks just never seem to end. They also showed us a low spot in the driveway that collects a lot of sludge, and they slip on it all the time, so getting that cleaned up made the whole thing a lot safer. All in all, I spent about four or five hours out there. There's one rust stain left from the neighbor's irrigation draining across the driveway, and apparently it comes right back no matter what, but everything else came up looking amazing. When he came out to see it, he told us it was the first good cleaning that place had gotten in twenty years.
