It also says something about how loyal is Oleana that not only did she not throw away Trubbish once she made it big, Garbedor is her ace.

All of Grisham’s pokemon are in Timer Balls while Griselle’s are in Quick balls - an even subtler nod to the character’s personalities

Actually I think Grimsley has an all-female team because of "Lady Luck" lmaoooooooo

I always saw Bugsy's female team as a nod to how many real-world bug species tend to have matriarchal colonies

Drasna is a interesting one, she uses only 'minor' dragons, no pseudos, no 'strong' dragons, just lower base stat dragons, maybe to reflect she is a kind, friendly dragon trainer, in contrast to the usually tough dragon trainers common in the series

Fun Fact about Hydreigon: It apparently hates Ghetsis so much, that it’s rumoured that it took Ghetsis' arm off out of hatred.

Bugsy’s female moms represent something else. In the insect world, the females are often the dominant and strongest of the genders. So his all female team shows he has the strongest bug types

Another cool detail with Silver's team is that his Haunter and Kadabra don't evolve until after he learns to trust others meaning he's trusted someone enough to trade with to evolve his Pokemon

I think one of the most overlooked ones is Guzma getting a Scizor after Team Skull is disbanded. Guzma who believes in his individual strength without outside help suddenly gets a Pokemon who evolves by trading meaning that the outcast had to socialize with people to help him evolve a Scyther.

Another aspect of Cynthia I like is the spiritomb lead. Not only is it super rare as you mentioned but on your first playthrough there’s a very low chance you would have ever seen it before. An insanely rare intimidating pokemon with no weaknesses as a lead is a very punch you in the mouth way to lead

In Ultra Sun and Moon all of Ghetsis’ Pokmon are in master balls, basically saying that they are forced to be with him

My absolute favorite has to be that Ghetsis' Hydreigon from BW1 has Super Effective moves to counter all of N's Pokemon

I really adore Guzma’s use of bug types despite them usually being thought of as weak. Team Skull is a group of outcasts who never completed their island challenge but Guzma takes them in, having faith where most wouldn’t see any. Golisopod is also a reflection of Guzma, appearing strong while hitting hard and fast with first impression, but once he’s hurt, runs away (emergency exit). He also does not use Z-moves cause he didn’t finish his own challenge or defied from it. Bonus for the mock trial of going through Po town to acquire a Buginium-Z at the end! Our boy just wants to live his dream of being a trial captain.

Also in Legends ZA, Jacinthe uses Gardevoir and Aurorus since she was taught Pokémon battling by Diantha and they are still friends. It's also nice that Lebanne uses Tyrantrum to match with Jacinthe's Aurorus

I don't think 'learning to love his Pokémon' is an accurate reflection of Gladion's arc. Yes, he's very cold and edgy like silver, but the fact is he literally risked his life to escape with Type Null from his mother. I think a better description is rebellion, in finding ones own path outside of what others want for you. This fits with Type Null/Silvally, literally breaking of the chains of expectations to find your own power. Gladion always cared about Pokémon.

I remember fighting Ghetsis in B2 and how my little Leavanny who had been with me since the beginning of my adventure (and is a happiness evolution to boot) took out his Hydreigon with one X-Scissor. I was so proud.

Ghetsis also uses an underleveled Hydreigon, meaning he forced it to evolve.

I think Hop's team detail is mostly underlooked by the fandom. I've always considered it a cool way of reinforcing Hop's character development.

Hop benching Wooloo, who is his actual starter Pokemon, hits especially hard after watching the Twilight Wings episode about them where Wooloo runs away because Hop talks about how hard it would be for him to beat Leon's Charizard.

Red's team consists solely of static Pokémon. Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise are all starters, Pikachu is the starter in Yellow. Snorlax is a static encounter, Espeon (Eevee) and Lapras are both gift Pokémon. Since he is supposed to represent the player character, his team is made of Pokémon everyone will get during their Kanto playthrough
