Years ago someone else remarked that as Donnie's ashes never touched the Pacific Ocean, even in the end he was out of his element.

I've heard someone describe the movie as "each character thinks they're the main character in a different genre of movie"

Donnie was the "rug" of the movie...he  realy tied the whole thing together.

Lebowski is proof that a movie can be both comfort food and spiritually nutritious.

Watch this movie again in 15-20 years and you’ll get a different perspective on it. This is some of the best acting there is.

I love that Lebowski never bowls in the whole movie.

I don't know if you figured it out - I haven't finished the video yet - but Maude's friend is indeed Lupin, David Thewlis.

That was indeed the actor that portrayed "Lupin" in the Harry Potter movies.

His name is Lebowski? That's your name dude!

Fantastic movie. Even the smallest role is written so well, so many great and unique characters. About Donny: Never missed a strike. Except the last one. Something was off then already, he felt something in his arm after the missed shot. A sign of an upcoming heart attack.

"Donnie" was in Fargo just before this movie, in which his character just would not shut up.  That's why he was in this one, and why Walter kept telling him to shut up.

It also explains why Donnie had to die. :)

The scene where they spread the ashes absolutely kills me 😂

Maude's pregnancy really tied the movie together.

The genius in this movie are all the countless little details that continue to pop up on subsequent viewings. Like the fact that Donnie's shirt and pants in the beginning are an exact color match of the seats in the bowling alley. He is such a wall flower that he literally blends in with the furniture. Another example is how the dog is running away in the background when Walter is taking the carrier back to the car when the police arrive. I don't think I spotted that until maybe my third viewing.  The Coen brothers are the greatest living directors alive, IMO.

There used to be an annual Big Lebowski party at a local theatre near me for a decade. They had standup comedians before and after the show and served white russians throughout. Such a fun event that I wish they kept going to this day as this is a fantastic movie to rewatch, especially with a crowd, and laugh all over again every time.

"You're out of your element, Donny!" kills me every single time lmao

The Coen Brothers are fond of having characters that everyone likes die in their movies. Enjoyed the reaction, thanks.

This is a movie you'll probably watch more and more each time and still get something you missed
It's like Goodfellas
You just keep watching it every couple of months it's so addicting
Both of them to this day

14:45 When Walter rolls out of the car and the gun goes off...that is one of the funniest scenes ever.

A lotta f bombs in this movie. The dialogue is fking legendary.
