At Mississippi State under Ron Polk in the 90s we had the best walk on program in the country. It was a 6 week tryout before final cuts were made. The first week probably 40 kids were cut. there was literally 100 players on the field. At the final cut I saw 3 or 4 scholarship players were cut over keeping walk ons.

It’s usually easier to just get recruited

Thanks for the help, I’m thinking of joining. My nephew is in a select league and they just lost in the playoffs but ya. I really want to play more and wish I continued faster then I did but I hope I can soon.

Thinking of walking on just need to put more work in. But not d1 level, I know I still need improvement in many areas. Any advice?
