Looks fragile

You're really inspired me bro thank you so much for this video

Fun Fact: In my country, official police Tonfa that sold freely for civillian & security guard in stores is cheaper than DIY wooden Tonfa.

Official Tonfa: Rp. 20.000, full plastic but very thick, strong enough to blocking a sword or machete.

Wooden long staff that people often use to make Nunchaku & Tonfa: Rp. 26.000 - 30.000.

Nicely done!

Some genuine feedback with overt snarkiness:

It’s a good thing you showed the entire hand-sawing process, otherwise we wouldn’t have known how you cut it to size.

Unless your audience is comprised primarily of the legally blind, a simple pencil mark will suffice for marking cuts. No need to color.

Removing the portion for the 90 degree handle would have been much quicker using the saw on the perpendicular lines, then cutting 45 degrees from each line (which will remove the bulk of the portion you need removed), then using the file to flatten the remaining rough spots.

If this is meant to be a tutorial, you should add text identifying the finishing products you used.

A miter saw can be purchased relatively cheaply.

He has no idea what a tonfa is, nor the measurements a tonfa should have. He doesn't even know how to use it.

For anyone looking to make a real functional one,use oak for the shaft and pine for the handle. Oak don't give and the pine will absorb the vibration.

I always want to do it too, but I'm too stupid.

Bruh I thought this was about like how to train using a baton saw it in my fyp 😂 and thought Dang lemme take a look

Where do you get the end cap for handle?

Great DIY keep the good job and don't mind the envious haters

This was a cool video - I consider myself an amateur woodworker at best but after watching this presentation I had to give this project a go for myself.  Normally I just make straight batons/walking sticks so a handled baton was the next logical step.

I am please to report such was a success, I did learn a several things during the process and would implement such if I ever get around to making a set.

Best wishes !

A pineapple 🍍 doesnt punch 🔙

Está mal hecha porque hubiera sido mejor ajustar el mango con el resto de la herramienta

How can I buy two?

Good video, I think it might be prone to breakage due to its conception, a way to make to the whole thing more rigid would've been to use a smaller diameter handle to fit it tightly into the body of the weapon via a hole about the diameter of the handle, then drilling the whole handle on its full length to glue into it a small wooden dowel.
Basically, the small chunk you used to glue the cap on could've being being put entirely inside the handle through the other side of the body to make it a single piece of wood and more rigid than in its current state.
Two minors adjustement would be to cut down a bit both the handle and the baton which are probably a slightly bit too long, and rounding up a bit both extremities to make it more effective as a striking weapon (smaller rounder tips are more painful upon impact, it penetrates more easily, just like the thing between our legs).

But you did quite a decent job already! I liked the shou sugi ban technique you used to blacken the wood and make it stronger!

10:05 Take this! You dirty pineapple!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Excellent job Youngster 👍🏿🦝

What coat do you apply for waterproofing?

Potworna amatorszczyzny, polecam zobaczyć jak wygląda prawdziwa chińska tonfa
