Some restaurants use tricks to inflate the bill for certain tourists, especially Americans. We posed as an American tourist, then as a French customer, to compare the experience in some touristy restaurants. And on two occasions, we paid €10 more while pretending to be tourists.

"How about, 'bonjour, c'est la répression des fraudes'?"
J’en avais fait l’expérience avec mon frangin, en demandant dans un restaurant/snack une pinte de cidre. Le gars nous a servi dans un verre de 33cl (non sur la carte je précise). Bizarrement au movement de payer, le prix était calé sur celui des pintes. Et quand je lui ai fait remarquer, le gars a bégayer et nous a fait une réduction de plusieurs euros.
En tant que français je remarque ce genre d’escrocrie, mais un chinois, qui en plus a fait face à une forte barrière de la langue, ne remarquera pas, où la la limite ne dira rien. Et ça me révolte que ce joyaux qu’est le Mont St-Michel, soit aujourd’hui gangréné par des commerçants peu scrupuleux.
Il faut aussi savoir que les TAXIS, ils en profitent aussi.
Je suis un ex parisien qui vit aux usa. Une fois, je suis revenu à Paris, et le TAXI a essayé de me la faire à l’envers en rallongeant la course.
Je lui ai très vite fait comprendre que je connaissais très bien Paris, et il a vite rectifié le coche…
Ma femme qui elle est américaine, elle se serait sûrement faite avoir.
Ce serait intéressant que vous fassiez le même test avec les TAXIS.
Ce sont des victimes pas des "pigeons"...
