Owen doesn't even get half the respect he deserves. 😔

I'll never forget one goal; the power and precision from his strike. So good. The 13 year old goalkeeper never stood a chance

People seem to forget how good Michael Owen was in his prime.

The flame that burns twice as bright lasts half as long.

"I was born fast" has got to be one of the coolest comments I've ever heard lol

Sad to hear this story honestly. When was in Africa in early 2000s, flipping thru newspapers searching 4 an Owen Poster. He was a man to fear.

He won Balon d Or in the Era of, Figo, Ronaldo, Zidane, Rivaldo, Henry, Shevchenko. Simply Amazing

He was better at 19 than Mbappe

"Get that Ballon D'or off the pitch, there's a game on"...WOW

LEGEND, M. Owen!

18 to 25 he was great. People think rashford is good look at Owen at 20. Same with giggs at 20. Young footballers now have no clue.

Still hurts seeing this almost 1.5 years later. Nice to see him talking so openly about his career. Crazy how he peeked at 22-23 when he started at 17.

He still holds the record for being the youngest PL player to hit 100 goals, at 23. If not for injuries he would have eviscerated Shearer's record.

Hard to hear it, absolute gent.

Pre injury Owen was a beast, it's tragic the hate he gets, beating Germany 5-1 away in a competitive game is something i will never forget

The best striker i have personally ever seen in an England shirt in his prime. People band the word ‘world class’ around far too freely.. this man was.

Young Owen was friggin incredible!

@dazza4345 8 years ago

great player.he doesn't have to justify himself to anybody.

I never imagined that he would become so underrated. Owen in his prime was lethal.

World class. Shame how people have tried to make him out to be a joke. I remember. I will always remember. World class.

A very, very open and honest interview, it tells us very clearly that being a professional football player is not all fun and games. I respect him a lot after seeing it. That he continued playing as long as he did is a compliment to his "mental strength." Michael, the best of luck in the future.
