Jade empire was honestly an underrated gem, short but still one of the best games ever released.

As a martial arts fan this is single-handedly, to this day, my favorite Bioware game ever, and I've played it more than any other. I miss those days.

Jade Empire is so UNDERRATED. I wish it would get a remaster.

Protip: if you hit someone with a heavy attack using a debuffing "support" style like Heavenly Wave, they'll gain a little green bar around their feet. If you then switch to a normal style and heavy attack them again, they instantly explode! Only works on human opponents, and no bosses, but still feels incredible to just five-finger-death-punch someone and delete them.

We always talk about the Legacy of BioWare. But with the success of Baldur's Gate 3. I want everyone to know. BioWare developed Baldur's Gate 1&2. Let that sink in. BioWare is responsible for Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, KOTOR, Jade Empire and Dragon Age. What's happened to that studio is a tragedy.

Played this game as a kid in the original Xbox, absolutely loved this game and I feel like it’s not talked about nearly enough for how good it was for its time

I loved this game.  The farmer more concerned with his Ox than his wife gets me every time.

Me on the Final Boss:
"Storm Dragon!"
"Legendary Strike!"
"Storm Dragon!"
"Legendary Strike!"
"Storm Dragon!"

You get the idea.

"That armor is super cool, I wonder if I can get it."
In a sense...

Love how skill ups "every dialogue is like if hr is in the room" has already become iconic

The only thing I remember distinctly disliking in Jade Empire was that the Closed Fist philosophy was described as pragmatically to brutally self-reliant...but a lot of the choices involved spending extra effort and going out of your way to be a knob.

But otherwise? Game’s worth it. If some kind of techno wizard made it so it was released with an engine/graphics closer to 2009-2012, it would be getting such a surge of interest now, same way DA:O/2 and Dead Rising 1/2 are.

i've had Jade Empire installed and just staring at me from my digital shelf for weeks.......... i think this is a sign to finally play it

"Don't worry, you are safe on your pedestal."

How did you let that bastard live after showing such cheek?!

Being evil is way more rewarding in this game than good. Once you max out closed fist, the little monkeys and shih tzus that dot the environments can be kicked for pick ups.

Jade Empire is one of the most underrated games. It's one of my favorite Bioware games, honestly.

dont forget to save scum when you get to the dice gambler if you win 20 games of dice with him in a row something...."fun" happens

Such an underrated masterpiece. A shame it never got any sequel. SPOILERS: Marrying Silk Fox and becoming a God-emperor was one the best endings BioWare ever gave us.

fun fact: Gao the lesser is voiced by Nathan Fillian

You want to know something that will really make you pissed off? Allegedly someone at Bioware said that there was a lot of buzz to make a sequel to Jade Empire even after the first attempt was cancelled to make Mass Effect and Dragon Age. It got enough traction that they pitched the idea to higher management who shot it down hard since they didn't want to invest money in making new assets for a sequel to a game that underselled when it first released, despite the obvious cult following it gained over the years. Instead, they pushed for people to focus on Project Dylan which would go on to be Anthem.

So in short, the first Jade Empire sequel was killed to make Dragon Age and Mass Effect, which I don't personally mind as the Mass Effect series is one of my personal favorites. Yet the second one was dropped to make Anthem...and if that doesn't tell you that management in most triple-A game studios is made up of some of the most joyless, out-of-touch fucks out there then I don't know what else does.

Oh man, I LOVED this game! The twist around the middle of the game left me in shock.. Just wish I could play this again..
