That animation if Sonic breaking in to get the Emerald is soo much better. Also despite its flatness it has much more scale.

Modders, you know what you gotta do.

When I Saw this I'm like "THIS IS LITERALLY A DIFFERENT  GAME"

what they’re saying on the live stream is that, it was basically the earliest version of the island. (they didn’t say which island it was)
the towers wasn’t like the final release where you run and climb up, but had elevators.
and once they got to the top, the Giganto on the left was his original size, then the one on the right was made bigger because Iizuka-san said
“too small! make him three times bigger” that’s why there’s 2 Gigantos😂

The original reveal trailer definitely has the same vibe as this, this feels a lot more shadow of the colossus/black knight than the final game

I think this shows that they held themselves back for the last gen consoles

10:15 I think they wanted players to defeat the smaller Titans first and extract the Emeralds from them, so then players could battle the large Titan as Super Sonic.

I see they're still trying to grow Sonic in Japan. Good.

Modders are recreating those camera angles and shots and possibly the climbing animations

It genuinely feels like we slipped into a different timeline. It's like we're seeing a ghost of what could have been...

9:48 I wonder why they didn't use this as the base model for Supreme.
Would've looked more unique than just a reskinned Giganto.

Him ripping out the emerald looks so good i wish they kept it

You can tell the climbing animations were made for this slower speed, then they realized it would be annoying so they just increased the speed without bothering to make a new animation lol.

I am sad that what we got wasn’t this, but I still love frontiers. That game was basically keeping me happy, while I was suffering from a partially collapsed lung.

I know modders are going to go NUTS lol (Frontiers Revisited devs are freaking out too lolmao). Super happy they released this footage, hopefully HD non-commentary soon so we can better hear the music? First part seems to be early version of Kronos Island Movement 1 and I can't tell if the "Giganto" climbing section is using an early version of Asura or Infinite's themes? Also, I wish your webcam was greyscale to match the gloomy mood lmao. I love the look of the green fog and FOV when boosting, although I can tell they toned it all down so you can focus on visibility and exploration (I do feel like they could have put some fog on all the platform challenges in the final game, so the pop-in wasn't so abrupt).

I do wish climbing up Giganto in the final game was a little slower, mainly because the blue dash rings make it impossible to hear the music for more than a minute (mortar canyon flashbacks).

They already added more fun ways to boost into a wall-climb to go faster, but they don’t really utilise it in the Titan climbs sadly.

I also really like the gameplay loop of fighting big enemies to gain chaos emeralds like in the builds the playtesters mentioned, which we also see here. It can be really fun when the world is actually fun to move around in and you have more momentum-focused/high-speed gameplay like in Frontiers post all the DLC updates. I wouldn't even be shocked if the next game will be like Final Horizons, with much harder enemies that require you to use everyone's high speed/unique abilities to outmanoeuvre.

The game looks so different i thought this was sonic frontiers 2

So many cool ideas! The camera felt more cinematic and the animations of sonic homing attacks up giganto and taking out emerald were really cool! I hope they keep exploring with these ideas/concepts in the future games

2:00 DID BRO JUST RIPPED OUT THE CHAOS EMERALD OUT OF THE TITAN OR MINI BOSS ROBOT LIKE TAKING HIS HEART AWAY!!! That would’ve been cooler than getting the chaos emerald from a vault

Why do I get the feeling we’ll get a lot of “this looks better than the final game” comments.

It looks really good i wish they kept the Chaos Emerald animation tho.😭💖💖💖
