The story mentioned Boudica, also spelled Boadicea or Boudicca.  She was the fierce Celtic queen of the Iceni tribe.  In 60 or 61 CE, she led the Iceni in a revolt against the Roman Empire.

The duke's name is Rupert /fal-ō-mēr/.  I'm trying to look up how to spell that name.  I don't think that it's spelled phallomere.  I'll keep looking.
