Ooh you so want to listen to more Voiceplay songs!  They are amazing - and they have such a wide genre range and as they are independent so they follow their own creative direction.  DJ has collaborated with Voiceplay a few times, he was a PERFECT choice for this song!  Geoff did in fact arrange this song - great job right 😉.  Thank you for the reaction!  Hope there will be more VP soon - PS:  DJ also collaborated with them on "Butter", "The chipmunks song" (Christmas song) and another MJ song "Man in the Mirror", but have a look at their song list - everything they do turns to gold! 🌹🕊

These guys are Acapella magic!!
Loved your reaction! ❤

wonderful watching you light up as you listened. They are amazing. DJ mostly does Broadway.  Geoff (Jeff) the bass, with Layne (far left, beatbox) are the founders and they arrange most of their performances. Arranger (as a general rule) is also artistic director and editor of the video. Geoff did this one. (low?  In this one? not so much.  Wait - he'll give you low.) They're based in Orlando and they drop a full performance once a month. Every single one is at an incredibly high level of quality. Layne has commented that he seems them as art pieces, and it shows. Welcome - they've got something for everyone.  (Yes, liked and subscribed.)

Thank you for your reaction!
Deejay Young was such a great choice for this and brought his A-Game. VoicePlay always manage to feature super-talented artists and give them the opportunity to shine and have a good time. Old classics or songs featured in video games, romantic or badass, spooky or funny - Whatever mood you're in, whichever genre you like, there's a VoicePlay song waiting for you to discover it! These guys are super-creative, from their sets and costuming, to wonderful arrangements that will turn even the most well-known or repetitive songs into a fresh and amazing experience. If you're doing more VoicePlay and/or Geoff Castellucci reactions in the future I'm gonna subscribe to you too.

I really love the way Geoff arranged this - giving it such a slow groove. And DeeJay was the perfect choice for guest on this!

This is a rather stripped down song for them - not just visually but also musically. They often put in more of a climax to almost a ‘wall of sound’. Hard to do without actual instruments.

Your reaction was so fun to watch 😊 Voiceplay is in contention to be nominated for a Grammy for this video. They're amazing and never disappoint ❤ have fun in the rabbit hole!

Welcome to the rabbit hole so many to choose from!😊😊😊❤❤❤

Thank you for this reaction! This is such a wonderful arrangement and performance, and they always have so much fun with their songs. They’ve done a few others by Michael Jackson, including Man In The Mirror and Thriller. I hope you get the chance to watch those too!

Voiceplay is amazing, each singer is extremely talented!  Try their cover of Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
They are a five man group, short one member since 2020.  They have very talented friends who collaborate with them for each piece.
During the pandemic, they had to stop touring.  Geoff Castellucci, the bass, started singing solo work on his channel.  You will want to check him out.
Check the description, they are totally independent, do almost everything except the final mix themselves.  Whoever arranges the piece usually has full artistic direction and production as well.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff.

lol, you haven’t even heard that bass singer yet.  He didn’t show off here at all. If you liked this, you might enjoy their cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller as well.  If you want to hear the bass go off, check out their cover of “Be Prepared” from the Disney movie “Lion King”.

I always subscribe for more VoicePlay #TheatreKidsOfAcapella. They cover everything from Metallica to Disney and Geoff Castellucci has a solo channel and does low bass covers on his own. He likes to cover Dusty Old Songs and has released a CD with that title.

I love this slower jazzy version of it. Deejay was the perfect featured artist because his voice is absolutely incredible. He also did Man in the Mirror with them back when their baritone was leaving for the US Navy. One of the things I really appreciate about them is I can always understand the lyrics. I’ve listened to a lot of songs that they cover and never really paid attention to the lyrics as much because a lot of times it’s unclear. They are usually very careful to take the lyrics very seriously into account when they do their performances. Man in the Mirror was never a big favorite of mine, partly because I’m really old, but when they did it before they left it was very meaningful.

Deejay has been a performer on stage. He toured with a company doing Hamilton for quite some time. He also has a very successful solo career. He is one of my favorite guest artist that they have used. Because they are currently one permanent member short, they use a lot of friends from the area who are also into the performing arts and DeeJay is one of those.

I don’t know if you listen to a lot of the 90s boy bands, but you really should check out their Boy Bands in 5 Minutes which covers all the way from the Beatles through  BTS. They also recently released a cover of Party of Your Lifetime which is from the game WarFrame 1999. If you’re a gamer they’ve done a lot of video game themes. My favorite is the Dragonborn Skyrim cover.

Subscribed!!  Looking forward to many more VoicePlay reactions!!

Love your description of Geoff's voice being "deeper than the ocean!" Yes, yes it is! I'm going to add that to my list of the ways people have described his voice. 😊 Your reaction was an absolute delight to watch, and I have subscribed in hopes of watching many more videos of you reacting to my favorite acapella group.

Welcome to the wonderful world of VoicePlay.  They are amazing and my favorite of the acapella groups.  I have subscribed to hopefully see more reactions of VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci (the bass, has his own channel (not acapella)).  VoicePlay has also done MJ's "Man in the Mirror" & "Thriller".  They are known as the 'Theater Kids' of acapella.  My favorite song by them is "Valhalla Calling".    Enjoy the rabbit hole, no matter what song you choose, you will not be disappointed.

Welcome to VoicePlay! They are the most talented acapella singers out there, IMHO! So many good things for you to explore from them! Subscribed, hope to see more VoicePlay here!!!

Thanks for this reaction to VoicePlay, my favorite group! Layne and Geoff both have five octaves ranges. Three octaves of Geoff's range is in full chest voice. Check out his solo channel. There aren't any duds on either channel!

The lead vocalist delivers a charismatic and playful performance, perfectly capturing the flirtatious and fun spirit of the original track. The vocal percussion and bassline add a rhythmic depth that keeps the energy high throughout.

If you like the bass singer, you should check out his solo channel! Geoff Castellucci is by far my favorite bass singer alive today, and while he may not be the lowest voice out there, there's a particular quality to his tone that just grabs my attention like no other. He's got a great tone, but also an incredible range of approximately 5 octaves, and he sounds fantastic no matter what part of his register he is singing in. He's a force of nature and I'm so happy to be alive at a time when he's just getting into his prime! (bass vocalists tend to get better over time, as their voice continues to mature and get richer, aging like a fine wine lol)

Deejay does a lot of musical acting - been in Hamilton, and the company he was touring with had a stop in Orlando.  VoicePlay took advantage and had him do The Chipmunk Song and then In My Room (Brian Wilson/Beach Boys).  He's also had a part in VoicePlay's Man In The Mirror (Michael Jackson) which was their send-off of J None who was recruited into the US Navy for his vocals, but J None does come back as often as he can get leave.  Deejay has also been a VP guest in Bang!, Butter and Best Friend (Earl's send-off)
