Is history repeating itself? Join Kevin Hicks as he dives into the Cade Rebellion of 1450—a pivotal moment in English history that feels shockingly modern.
This wasn't a disorganized peasant riot; it was a disciplined, political march on London by ordinary Englishmen demanding one thing: Accountability. In this video, you’ll discover parallels to today's modern politics and learn how heavy taxation, a broken justice system and corrupt government officials pushed a nation to the brink. Sound familiar?

The one thing I have learned about history is people don’t learn from history.

God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion.

We're just so sick of corrupt politicians and the absolute state of people who blindly follow them.

History knocking is an understatement. History is here with bells on, my friend.

The people don't simply feel unheard, they ARE unheard by those that squeeze the taxes out of them to distribute afterwards those taxes under themselves and others they try to keep 'sweet' towards the Government.

That was an excellent tale. I love your restraint; you do not explicitly connect the revolt with the present moment. Instead, you let the audience make the connection on their own. Masterful storytelling and teaching. Thank you

Thanks Kevin. No one relates a history lesson like you do. I can listen to you teach all day long. You're the best !!!

It's not just that we aren't being listened to. We are being positively silenced!

A major factor in Cade's Rebellion was the mishandling of the war in France and the refugees returning to England not just the soldiers.

Excellent video, as always. Thank You. The parallels you mentioned , causing the, ‘Cade Rebellion’ are like looking into a mirror at our own broken Country…and most of the world and seeing us all as -only wearing different costumes! How utterly sad. We learn NOTHING … or rather, so called ‘Leaders’ of people learn nothing - except perhaps that they have learned to keep the people totally controlled more cunningly nowadays and are even more corrupt now than they ever were. If I could have a wish it would be that we, the British people, could have the same courage and stand up and make our voices heard…..and see real change as a result.

Tose who forget their history are doomed to repeat it.

Can't but suspect going after the King's advisors instead of the King himself was a way to avoid the charge of treason.

You got me when you said "in fact, I've got his head right here". A light moment describing dark times. A sense of humor and history will see us through. Thank you, Kevin.
