Addison's disease is sometimes known as an invisible disease. So ppl sometimes can't understand, b/c you "look fine", but they can't even begin to understand the internal storm we have inside. I've been a nurse for 15 yrs and I still get overwhelmed with it all. Sending good energy your way.
Good news y'all, it's manageable! I'm on my 44th year with it and can tell you there are a lot of ups and downs coming your way but if you take your medications and eat like you should you'll be fine. Blessings
Thank you for sharing this. I've felt exactly like you described my entire life. I got worse a couple years ago and had a sudden violent illness with no explanation. Finding Addison's was reading about myself. So I talked to my primary, told her everything, and she told me it's stress.
I'm afraid of what will happen if nobody will listen. I understand what you are saying about not being heard. So that "whole other topic" you mentioned is my life.
I think when I finally get help, it will be because of people like you. So just know you are doing a great thing just by talking. Much love and I'm glad you are getting answers and getting better!
I've been struggling with the same things my whole life, Docters never believed me and always send me away. A couple of weeks ago we demanded more tests, and I finally got tested on every way possible. Now they are going to test me for addisons next week.
Great video, I was diagnosed 5 years ago and doctor kept telling me I was depressed even though I was losing loads of weight and skin turning brown only till I fell unconscious after a swimming competition then I was rushed into hospital. I'm lucky to be here👍
I fit a lot of the symptoms for this but who knows. I’m almost certain I have an autoimmune disease that’s for sure and now I’m trying to get referred to a rheumatologist. I’m glad you were able to figure out what was going on
For years I felt like I was a hypochondriac thinking I have this and that disease or issue diving into every thought and now I fell up on Addison's and I do believe that this is what I'm suffering from and we'll be going to request testing as soon as possible. This makes me feel like I'm not crazy a huge relief.
Thank you for sharing your story. I've had low morning cortisol and fatigue for years. I finally had the ACTH stim test on Thursday and was called on Friday saying my results were abnormal and to start steroids same day. I cannot even get in to see the doc until a month. So I have MANY unanswered questions.
Thank you so much for this video. I am 21 and going through a similar phase where it is extremely hard to manage. I am not sure about my dosages, my steroids, and even my diagnosis. But turns out that no one really is. Not even the doctors. Seeing your journey makes me believe that there might be better days ahead. .
you're story is like reading back my life from 11 on. Of course with oh so much jammed in between. I guess the new year had me thinking what I could do to better myself.. and realizing how negligent I've been to my diseases. I'm glad you've been brave and able to share your experience. I've been feeling very alone. Me against the world and these rare ass diseases
One of my good friends has this desise and it really helps me know about what she is going through and helping me understand why she is not felling good sometimes thank you so much for making this video even if this is not helping you
My dog has addison's disease and now hearing this, I wish I understood better how she is feeling day to day. I didn't realize it gave you so manny different random symptoms -- her's manifest usually as eating/not eating and lethargy or mood swings but I am sure now that those are only half of what she is feeling... I am lucky not to have a health struggle such as yours. Thank you for explaining this, it has helped me understand my little one bit better.
I was diagnosed 3 days ago with addisons. I was not keen on taking steroids either. As i already take inhaled steroids for asthma. And oral sterouds. I have hashimotos hypothyroid for 25 years. Diagnosed with cfs/ ME too. ? Long history of chronic and critical illness. Sepsis. Allergies ect. Gut issues. Diet and fermented foid helped heal my gut microbiome. Destroyed by hundreds doses of antibiotics. Healing the gut really makes a massive difference.x
Thanks for sharing your story and experience. I hope my daughter listens to you so she knows she is not the only one dealing with addison's disease. 🌞🆗️❤👍
