There is no way the Euro can survive a Greek-style crisis in France.

20 years of labour shortages, import millions of non contributors, still have labour shortages - what was it all for?

All the countries are in massive debt. It’s a worldwide recession but leaders don’t want to confirm it.

They take HALF of what we get paid to fund services like hospitals etc but give it as taxes gifts to the richest peoples in the country. Thats why we’re in debt, cause they’re robbing us more and more every year so we can’t spend money to make the economy run, we make less children because we can’t afford them and it’s a never ending spiral because of THEM. Not because of healthcare !! Our schools, hospitals and public services are worse and worse every year, less space, more wait time. They’re NOT spending what they’re saying on those services which is why the French people are getting angry af.

As Merkel liked to quote "The European Union accounts for 7 percent of the world’s population, 25 percent of its GDP, and 50 percent of its social spending". One day the well will run dry and as a worker in France I can tell you we are feeling the pinch.

It’s easy to be generous with other people’s money.

Yes even their crown jewels got robbed today

France spends 14% of its Gov budget on pensions.

And more than 30% on healthcare and research.

Hi!!!

French guy here and I think most foreigners don't know that our presidents ALL keep their salaries for LIFE. We used to have a president for seven years and nowadays, it's five. So now, see how many of these guys we had, how many of them are still alive to this day and you'll see some other reasons as to why France is so in debt. Most politicians barely pay for anything like they have some pocket money to make their months. The wealthiest flee from the country because they don't want to pay their taxes but the French administration will go after you if you make one mistake.

Healthcare costs more? Well, Covid happened and some are suffering from long Covid. But also, pollution is ruining people's health, ultra-processed foods is basically poison in a can, pesticides they use in agriculture can cause cancer. But also, Macron keeps butchering public hospitals by firing more and more health professionals, firing teachers as well and then having the nerve to whine about the lack of teachers (all while shitting on them). We can't let retirees without money, they paid their whole life to be able to retire, they deserve their pension. Plus, unqualified workers, such as factory or construction workers, can barely enjoy ten years of retirement simply because many die due to health conditions related to their former jobs, so the retirees who live longer are those who were earning a lot more in the first place. It's easier to remain healthy when you're a doctor or even a secretary than it is for those with laborious, physical jobs. Also, in France, know that about half of the people who can get financial support don't ask for it, most of these folks don't even know they can have it!! Some are also too proud to ask. So really, even if we're screwed, it's less than we could be.

Job market is a nightmare, companies completely disregard their employees nowadays, a salary isn't enough to live anymore, people only survive and they can't even afford hobbies or just a little hangout with friends because everything is so expensive so their lives revolve around work, which leads to burn outs, depressions, anxiety, etc. Because our system is about solidarity, workers (and even retirees!!! La CSG pour les français, si jamais, vous vous demandiez, ça sert à ça!) pay taxes on their salaries for all this. So now, those who just want to launch their independent business aren't exactly thrilled because of URSAFF so many don't dare because they might end up in debt (one of the reasons why I don't do it. I'm disabled and I'm not proud of the life I'm living because I have some financial support to grant me some autonomy and I'd like to make my own money but I know it's too risky) and for some who did start their own thing, they had to stop because of URSAFF, they were asking for too much money, even if, in the first place, you pay based on what you earn but for some reason, URSAFF always finds some money you owe them, it's completely opaque so you can't know why and how. So most people with ideas can't even give it a shot because their financial security is at stake here, which can lead to less work force as well.

And I'm only at surface level here because I'm not educated enough to go deeper than what I'm saying. Sure, there's much more to say and other approaches to have but when you're not a citizen of the country you're talking about, you can't just barge in and say "This or that country has issues because of what the elderly cost" because it's simply not true. If you saw the amount of ministers who live in  the most abhorrent luxury and then tell the people to make more and more efforts because they (the politicians) refuse to just spend less, the way wealth tax was canceled BUT financial aid for rent decreased because there was going to be less money (and that happened in less than a week. Like Macron said "hehe let's stop taxing the rich" and I think it was two days after that, he decreased the financial help for housing) and there's also tax evasion that represents BILLIONS each year, you'd see what I mean and you'd understand why the French are so angry when politicians go after their rights. Especially when the very same politicians steal the country's money for their personal gain because clearly, this video overlooks that stuff and focuses on how much the pensions cost instead.

France can have more money but the politicians have to be willing to sacrifice a bit of their comfort and the super duper rich ones have to pay their taxes because one of our billionaires, Bernard Arnault, earned NINTETEEN BILLIONS in ONE day. So he can afford to pay his taxes. But sure, pensions are to blame, the decreasing amount of workers are also to blame but never those who can make an actual difference. Sorry but when you have almost two hundred billion dollars, paying your taxes won't throw you out on the streets with a piece of cardboard above your head to protect you from rain.

That was such a long comment omg sorry haha. But it's important to have actual context from people who live in the country aforementioned because a country isn't just money. Whoever read the whole thing, thanks for your time. Please take care, make sure you stay hydrated and have a good day! :D

Politicians aren’t held accountable

The UK spends 5% of its entire economy on pensions, France spends 14%. That's fucking insane.

don’t forget that a lot of money has been stolen by politicians. They don’t intend on using the budget as they should. It has been made public. We’re going crazy from that.

And the mayor of Paris is buying Louis Vitton bags with public money. Macron can give 40 M€ to Ukraine without asking. You forgot a lot about corruption like alstom, Nestle Water, Mc Kinsey, etc, etc.

they "change" the government? No they just take the same people and switch places.. the prime minister is the previous army minister the Education minister is the previous prime minister etc ...

Image being a young adult who just finished their education in france, that's insanse. Even more insane is when you realize that world development has come so far and yet, we haven't solved the old "just born in wrong era" issue

yeah as a frenchman I confirm
Governement is doing bad rn
we so cooked

You know why taxes are so high? Because they can't tax billionaires

I read today that the French Crown Jewels were stolen the other day. I found that quite ironic.

is it really hard to understand why the population would refuse to move retirement from 62 to 64 when politicians, CEO and plenty others privileged ones get pensions of around 8 times bigger then them and generally live in opulence?

The retirement age in the US is 67 - not 66. It was gradually raised during the last few years. For those born in 1960 or later the full retirement age is 67. France is living beyond its means and must wake up before the consequences are devastating.
